6点10分的英语有两种方式表达：sixten或tenpastsix。所有的时间均可用小时+分钟顺读表示，如6点10分读作sixten。如果分数小于或等于30，则用past来表示，结构为“分钟+past+该点钟”，6点10分即tenpastsix。时间表达方式各异，视分钟数而定。若时间在半小时之内，可使用“分钟+past+小时”，例如6点10分表示为tenpastsix。若时间超过半小时，使用“（相差的）分钟+to+（下一）小时”，如10点35分表示为twenty-fivetoeleven。若时间恰好为半小时，表达为“half+past+小时”，例如11点30分表示为halfpasteleven。当分钟与15有关时，有三种表达方式：9点15分可读作ninefifteen、fifteenpast
