一、本课程地位、性质和任务
《基础英语》是一门基础英语技能课,是传授系统的基础语言知识和训练基本语言技能的综合课程,是本专科院校英语专业基础阶段的一门必修必考的主干课程。本课程的修课对象为英语专业本专科一、二年级学生,它的具体任务是传授英语语音、语调、词汇和语法基本知识,培养学生听、说、读、写、译的语言技能,培养学生获取知识的能力、思考的能力和创新的能力,为学生学习其他课程服务。
二、课程教学的基本要求
1. 语音:对高中已学的语音知识加以整理、巩固、扩展和加深,要求学生掌握英语的单音发音,着重练习重音、节奏、连读、不完全爆破这些朗读技巧,要求学生综合运用所学的语音、语调和朗读技巧知识,流畅地朗读与课文难度相当的短文并与他人交流。
2. 语法:能识别词类,区分名词的可数性和不可数性、可数名词的单、复数形式;基本掌握各种代词的形式与用法、基数词和序数词、常用介词和连词、形容词和副词的句法功能、比较级和最高级的构成及基本句型、冠词的一般用法;了解动词的主要种类、时态、语态及不定式和分词的基本用法、句子种类、基本句型和基本构词法。掌握主谓一致关系、表语从句、宾语从句,定语从句和状语从句等句型;直接引语和间接引语的用法;动词不定式和分词的用法、各种时态、主动语态、被动语态和构词法;熟练掌握主语从句、同位语从句、倒装句和各种条件句;初步掌握句子之间和段落之间的衔接手段; 较好地掌握句子之间和段落之间的衔接手段;熟练地使用各种衔接手段,连贯地表达思想。
3.词汇:通过基础英语课、阅读课和其他途径认知词汇达5,500—6,500个,正确而熟练地运用其中的3,000—4,000个及其最基本的搭配,并正确使用这些词,了解和掌握各种词形的变化规则,掌握英语的基本构词规则,并在阅读时能根据所学的规则猜出从学过的词派生出来的常用词。
4.写作:能根据作文题目、提纲或图表、数据等,在30分钟内写出长度为200个单词左右的短文,内容切题,结构严谨,条理清楚,语法正确,语言通顺,表达得体;并能根据提示在10分钟内能正确书写便条和通知等应用文,写出长度为60-80个单词左右的应用文。 能写故事梗概、读书报告、课程论文以及正式的书信等。要求语言正确、表达得体并具有一定的思想深度。
5. 口语:能就课文有关的内容回答问题,对与课文有关的话题进行表述,能在一般社交场合与英语国家人士交谈,做到正确表达思想,做到语音、语凋自然,无重大语法错误,语言基本得体。
6. 翻译:能完成课程中的各种翻译练习,要求译文忠实于原文,表达流畅;能将与课文难度相当的文章进行英译汉或汉译英翻译,做到理解正确,译文通顺。

九、本大纲编写参照系、编写根据、编制人
本大纲编写参照了一些本科大学的教学大纲,按照所上本科班级的学生的程度,由李旭清、袁秀凤、叶敏芬共同编写于2004年9月,并于2010年9月作了修订。
