梦想还是要有的

Many of you fail to seek your purpose in life and you should. You dream and then follow it up with a list of all the reasons why the dream is unachievable. You fill your life with excuses and "I can't." Many great companies were conceived from a dream, nurtured in a garage or basement and grew to be traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Why not you? Why not your dream? The only true limits you experience in life are those you create or those you allow others to impose upon you. If you can dream it, you can do it!

你们许多人在一生中或许会有找不到人生目标的时候，这很正常。你追求自己的梦，跟着出现一大堆告诉你这梦不可能实现的理由。你开始为自己的人生找各种借口，告诉自己“我不行。” 很多大公司都是由一个梦演变而来，从车库或地下室里发展成为纽约交易所的上市公司。为什么不是你？为什么不是你的梦？你在人生路上所遇到的那些障碍都是你自己设置的，要么就是你让他人施加在你身上的。梦想还是要有的，万一实现了呢！

Dreaming is the easy part. Acting on the dream is harder. Recognize that a dream is a journey. On the simplest level, it takes commitment, time, desire, and courage. But rarely is something great easily realized. Dreaming is recognizing and embracing the potential for greatness and seeking it in all areas of your life. Believe in your dreams and your ability to accomplish them. Keep your dreams in front of you. I'm here to challenge you to reach for your dream. Do not be afraid to dream. Never forget, if you can dream it, you can do it!

It was a beautiful, sunny, Spring day. I had just finished driving my daughter to the airport to catch an early morning flight. 

这是一个阳光明媚的美好春日。我刚刚开车送女儿去机场赶早班飞机。

My sons and I then went to a fast food place for breakfast before heading back home.

在回家之前，我和儿子们去一家快餐店吃了早饭。

After eating we all got into the car and pulled out of the parking lot. 

进餐后，我们回到车里，并将车驶出停车场。

The restaurant was at the very top of a hill. At the bottom of the hill was a stop sign so we found ourselves at the end of a long line of traffic waiting while the cars at the bottom turned onto the main road one at a time.

餐馆在山顶，在山底有个禁止通行的标志，我们排在等待通行一条长队的最后面，而位于山底的车子每次只有一辆能开上主路。

As I looked down to the bottom of the hill my eyes saw an elderly man standing by the stop sign. 

就在我向山下张望的时候，注意到一位长者就站在禁止通行标志的旁边。

His clothes were old and worn. He held a cardboard sign with the words: Need Help Please! written on it. 

他衣衫褴褛，手举着写有“请帮帮我”的牌子。

My heart went out to him and I imagined myself in his situation.

我的心不由得被他牵动，想象着如果我是他面对这这样的处境会怎样。

As car after car turned onto the road without stopping for him, I reached for my wallet to look for whatever cash was left in it. 

驶入主路的车辆并没有因为这位老人而停留，我寻摸着钱包，然后打开看看里面还有多少现金。

As I was pulling it out of my pocket, though, I saw a young woman walk up to him along the side of the road. 

就在我把钱包从口袋里拿出来的时候，我看到一位姑娘朝着老人走去。

She was carrying a bag full of take out food from the restaurant I was just at. I watched as the old man thanked the young girl and smiled as she reached in to give him a hug.

她手上提着一袋食物，就是从我刚刚吃早餐的店里买的。姑娘走到老人跟前给了他一个拥抱，老人微笑着向姑娘道谢，这一切我都看在眼里。

Suddenly a loud HONK! from the car behind me made me realize that I hadn't been moving forward, because this simple choice for kindness had so captured my attention and my heart.

突然我听到一声从后面车子传来的鸣笛声。刚才姑娘举手之劳的善意深深打动了我，我光顾着看了，忘了把车子往前开。

By the time I reached the bottom of the hill both the man and lady who had helped him were gone. Yet, as I drove home the sun seemed to shine even brighter and Heaven felt a bit closer to Earth.

当我的车子开到山下那位帮助老人的姑娘已经走了。当我开车回家的时候，太阳光变得更加一样了，天堂仿佛也离地面更近了。

A choice is such a powerful thing. It can touch a heart and change a life. It can bring us closer to God and make Heaven smile. Each day we are given a thousand choices. May you make all of yours for kindness. May you make your whole life a choice for love, joy, and God.

原来选择也是这么有力量的一件事情，它会直击内心，改变生活。让我们离上帝更近，让天堂微笑。每天我们要做上千个选择。愿你的每个选择都带着慈悲。愿你一生的选择都带着爱、愉悦和上帝的名义。

I have a Rewards Card for Showcase Cinema that allows me to earn rewards points with each purchase that I make at the theatre and periodically provides me with a free popcorn, soda or movie ticket coupon. I had recently accumulated enough rewards points to obtain a coupon for a free popcorn.

我有一张Shwocase电影院的积分卡，每次消费都会积点，然后定期给我提供免费的爆米花，汽水，和电影优惠券，最近我的积分可以换免费的爆米花了。

Standing in the movie theatre ticket line on Saturday, I noticed just ahead of me, a father with his 2 small boys also waiting to buy their tickets for the Matinee Movie. Knowing that movies can be quite expensive for families nowadays, I tapped the Dad on the shoulder and asked, ‘I have a coupon for free popcorn and don’t plan to use it, would you like it for one of your boys?’ He said, ‘Yeah, sure. That’s great! Thanks!’ and took the coupon.

周六，我正在排队买电影票，注意到有一个父亲带着两个孩子就排在我的前面，准备看日场电影，如今在电影上的花销对于一个家庭来说也是有点小贵。于是我拍了下那位父亲的肩膀，问道：“我正好有一张爆米花的免费优惠券，我不打算用了，要不你给其中一个小朋友来一份吧。”父亲答道，“好的，太棒了，谢谢你！”说着手下了优惠券。

A few minutes later, after they had purchased their tickets, one of his small sons who appeared to be about 9 or 10 years old, walked up to me and silently held out a shiny penny to show me. I took it and said, ‘Wow that’s cool! It’s really shiny!’ He quietly replied, ‘It’s a 2011’. As I handed it back to him. He pushed the penny towards me once again and quietly said, ‘You can keep it’. Showing my gratitude, I replied, ‘Wow that’s awesome, thank you very much” and asked, ‘Where did you get it!’ and he said quite softly, ‘I found it in my Dad’s car’. I said, ‘Oh that’s cool, thanks! He smiled, quietly turned and walked back to his Dad who returned my smile with a knowing smile of his own. It’s the small special moments like that that can make an ordinary day, special.

I was on vacation in Hawaii with my family. We were at the beach all day and at some point I took off my ring I got as a gift from my mom for graduation (beautiful, gold, inscribed, full of sentimental value) and placed it in the cup holder of a foldable chair. Beach day continues, and we pack up and go home. Once home, I realize what I've done. I realize my ring isn't on my finger. Panic ensues.

我正和家人在夏威夷度假，我们一整天都待在沙滩上。有那么一会儿我把戒指摘了下来，这枚戒指是妈妈送我的毕业礼物（很漂亮的带有花纹的金戒指，其中蕴含了很多情感价值），我把它放在了折叠椅的杯架上。沙滩上还未日落时我们收拾好东西回家了。一到家我就想起来了，我发现戒指不在手上就慌了。

We race back to the beach with only 20 minutes to spare before sunset. Get to the beach and locate the general area we were laying out earlier.

还有20分钟就日落了，我们奔回海滩。到了海滩，我们找到了白天休息的大概位置。

About 15 strangers in the area got down on their hands and knees to help my sobbing mess self search for my ring. And they helped me to the end. Eventually in a stroke of luck, I find the ring. I stand up and exclaim to the group of kind strangers "I found it". They all crowd around me so happy and congratulatory as though they had stake in this game. My tears of loss turn into tears of joy and thankfulness for the amazing effort put forth by this group of people.

在那儿有大约15个陌生人，他们都趴在地上帮助哭成泪人的我找戒指。他们一直帮我找到最后。最终机缘巧合我找到了戒指。我站起来朝那群善良的陌生人喊：“我找到了。”他们都很开心地围到我身边大声庆贺，好像他们赌赢了这场比赛。我之前因为丢东西而哭，现在变成了因为高兴和感激这群人所付出的努力而哭。

Susie shared the idea on her  page, including two videos of her 18-year-old daughter, Abby, opening the time capsule for the first time.

"This week Abby turned 18. For her 1st birthday we asked all our loved ones to write her a letter to be put in a time capsule that would be opened 17 years later. It is the most precious gift we could have ever given to her. Among the 25 letters are 7 letters from people who have passed on. These include letters from her Grandfather Doug, her uncle John Aldershof, great grandparents and more."

"We cried and laughed all night. Such a blessing to have birthday wishes from everyone. The time capsule was full of great things for her. If you have a small child in your life, please share this idea. It was incredible."

命中注定是家人

We found him a few weeks ago, walking along the road in a rural area. He was jumping on cars, and we thought maybe his family was camping somewhere nearby, so we passed him by. A few hours later, on our return trip, he was still in the same place, again, trying to get folks to stop for him. When he saw us, he laid down in the middle of the road, so we were unable to get around him.

我们是在几周前发现他的，当时它正走在一条乡间的小路上。它试图跳上我们的车子，我们想它的家概在附近露营，所以也没有多想，就把车子开走了。几个小时后，在回程的路上它又出现在相同的地方，试图让经过的人停下。当它看到我们的时候，就立马躺在路中间，让我们没有办法摆脱它。

We stopped the car and looked around for a few minutes, trying to figure out if anyone was around from whom he was separated. It didn't appear so. Then we took a good look at the dog. He had no collar and he was really thin. We decided he was abandoned.

我们停车在附近张望了几分钟，想要看看丢失它的主人是否就在附近，结果没有主人出现。这时我们又好好观察了这只小狗，它没有带项圈，而且十分消瘦，它应该是被遗弃了。

My husband said, "If he doesn't bite me when I try to pick him up to put him in the car, then we have a new dog." The dog happily joined us with no fight at all. The only thing we were in danger of was getting licked to death. He kept sticking his head between the two front seats and thanking us for picking him up.

丈夫说，要是他不咬我，我们就收养它。一路上狗狗和我们相处融洽，一点儿都没有冲突，它舔得我们快要窒息了。他坚持把头伸到我和丈夫的座位中间，就好像感激我们收留它一样。

The dog was clearly on the road for some time. He was extremely under weight. He was covered in scars and new wounds. We have surmised that some of the scars were from when he was on the road, we are thinking possible fights with coyotes, but he also looks as though he was used for fighting other dogs. We figured his incredibly sweet personality was the reason he was abandoned. He must not have been a good fighting dog.

这只狗肯定在路上流浪了有段时间，骨瘦嶙峋，我们还在他的身上发现疤痕和新的伤口。我们推测他的上伤是在路上土狼或者是和其他狗打架所致。这只狗脾气很好但也可能是被抛弃的原因，它不是一只好的斗犬。

So, we fed him a lot over the course of the next two weeks and he gained over twenty pounds. We took him to the veterinarian, who said the dog appears to be in good health, despite his having been abandoned. The vet guessed the dog is about two or three years of age, from the condition of his teeth. The vet gave him all the required shots and sent us on our way.

收养它的头两个星期我们喂了它很多，它身上有超过20处伤口。于是我们带它去看了兽医。兽医告诉我们，除了被抛弃，它的身体状况良好，从它的牙齿推测它大约两三岁大。医生给它注射完所需要的疫苗以后，我们就回家了。

We do love this dog. He has obviously been mistreated and yet, he still is so very sweet. He had no manners, but he is a quick learner. He no longer tries to get on the bed, but he does like sitting in one of the folding chairs.

我们很喜欢这只狗。他之前显然是被虐待了，它还是一如既往的好脾气。它没有什么坏习惯，但是它学东西很快，它不再跳上我们的床了，它更喜欢一张折叠椅。

Since then, he has become a member of our family.

Life is full of miracles. They surround us every day. One of these miracles happened to me recently. I was filling my car’s tank at a local gas station. It was only 10 A.M. but I already felt tired. It was a cloudy, gloomy and rainy day and I hadn’t slept well the night before. After I paid for the gas I turned my car towards the main road. I looked right and left then my brain sent the signal for my foot to push on the gas pedal but nothing happened. Shocked, I shook my head to clear it and gazed down at my foot.

生活充满了奇迹，而且每天就在我们身边上演。最近我也碰到的一桩不可思议的事情。当时我正在当地的一家加油站加油，虽说只有上午十点，但我却感觉相当疲惫。那天天气多云阴沉看着要下雨，之前晚上我也没有睡好。付过油钱以后我就准备开车上主路，我左右看看，然后大脑发出信号让脚踩油门，但是什么都没有发生。一阵惶恐，我摇摇头试图清醒，然后低下头看我的脚。

Just as I did, though, a semi-truck roared past my car doing 60 mph. My weary, bleary eyes hadn’t seen it when I had looked just 2 seconds earlier. If I had been pulling out when I should have been my little green car would have been smashed and I would have most likely been killed. I sat there for a long time quietly thanking God for sparing my life before pulling out on the road and heading home. This time both my brain and foot worked perfectly.

就在这时一辆半挂汽车以每小时60英里的速度从我车旁边呼啸而过。两秒前，我还用疲惫的双眼，视线模糊的看了，并没有发现这一情况。但凡当时我的车驶出一点，那现在我的绿色小车肯定被撞了个稀巴烂，我也已经很可能一命呜呼了。我在车里静坐良久，感谢上帝躲过一劫，之后再开车回家，这次我的脑子和脚配合默契。

As I looked back on that moment later I still couldn’t understand it. Did God prevent my brain’s signal from reaching my foot? Did an angel grab my toes to keep them from pressing on the gas? One question kept coming back into my mind as well: why? Why did I get this miracle? Why did God spare my life this day? Finally, I felt the answer forming deep within my heart and mind. I heard the words coming from my soul saying: “You still have more to do. Your work is not done yet!”

之后回忆起那一刻，我还是很费解，难道是上帝阻止了我脑子发给脚的信号？还是有天使拉住了我的脚不让踩油门？还有一个问题在我的脑海中久久萦绕，为什么？是我碰上这样的奇迹。最后答案从我的心理和脑中浮现。我仿佛听到自己的灵魂在说，你还有事情要做，你还有许多事情没有完成。

Richard Bach wrote: “Here is the test to find if your mission on Earth is finished: if you are alive it isn’t.” Wake up each day then knowing that your mission isn’t done yet. You have more love to share, more people to help, more kindness to give. You have one more day to be the miracle God meant for you to be.

生而为人，生而为仁

A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call asap, changed his clothes & went directly to the surgery block. He found the boy's father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor. On seeing him, the dad yelled:

在接到一通紧急手术的电话以后，一名医生急匆匆地走进医院。他一听到电话马上就接了，换了衣服，径直走到手术区域。他看见患者的父亲在走廊焦急地来回踱步等待着医生，一看见医生便咆哮道：

"Why did you take all this time to come? Don't you know that my son's life is in danger? Don't you have any sense of responsibility?"

你怎么这么久才来？知不知道我的儿子危在旦夕？你还有没有点责任心？

The doctor smiled & said:

医生面带微笑说道：

"I am sorry, I wasn't in the hospital & I came as fast as I could after receiving the call...... And now, I wish you'd calm down so that I can do my work"

“我很抱歉当时我不在医院，接到电话以后我也尽可能快的赶来了，现在你需要冷静，我要开始我的工作了。

"Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies now what will you do" said the father angrily

冷静？！如果现在手术室里面的是你的儿子，你会冷静么？如果你自己的儿子要死了，你会怎么做呢？这位父亲生气的说道。

The doctor smiled again & replied: "I will say what Job said in the Holy Book "From dust we came & to dust we return, blessed be the name of God". Doctors cannot prolong lives.

医生依然面带微笑回答道：我会说，约伯在《圣经》里曾说，承蒙上天关爱，我们源于尘土也终将归于尘土。

The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy,"Thank goodness!, your son is saved!" And without waiting for the father's reply he carried on his way running. "If you have any question, ask the nurse!!"

手术进行了几个小时，之后医生高兴地从里面走出来。“感谢上帝，你的儿子得救了！“还没有等父亲回答，他就一路小跑走了“如果你有任何问题，问护士吧。”

"Why is he so arrogant? He couldn't wait some minutes so that I ask about my son's state" Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left.

几分钟后父亲看到护士抱怨道，“他为什么如此傲慢，也不等个几分钟让我问问儿子的情况”

The nurse answered, tears coming down her face: "His son died yesterday in a road accident, he was in the burial when we called him for your son's surgery. And now that he saved your son's life, he left running to finish his son's burial."

“他的儿子昨天出交通事故去世了，我们打电话让他手术的时候他正好在善后，现在他救好了你儿子就要赶回去参加葬礼。”说着护士留下了眼泪。

Moral - Never judge anyone..... because you never know how their life is and what they're going through"

这个故事告诉我们：不要轻易评价一个人，因为你了解他们的人生也不知道他们此刻正在经历什么。

我还没有倒下

As a recent Stroke Survivor and Author of You Will See God’s Miracles If Only You Believe (available for purchase on ), I am here to share some crucial life-lessons I learned in recent years concerning well-balanced lifestyles, how to divert personal disasters, and the art of listening to what your body and mind is trying to tell you. 

作为一个最近遭受中风的幸存者和《只要你相信你就能见证上帝奇迹》（该书亚马逊上有售）的作者，我有些个人觉得重要的人生经验与大家分享，从均衡兼顾的生活方式、避免个人不幸、如何倾听以及解读身心发出的信号的几个方面。

As an executive, my plate was filled to overflowing. I basically worked from sun up to sun down, so to speak. 

我是个经理，工作常常是超负荷运转，可以说基本上每天都是起早贪黑。

Prior to my stroke, I thrived in my role as CEO of a successful chamber of commerce. 

中风以前，作为一名CEO我在商会可谓是事业有成。

To balance the stress, I would work out at the gym a minimum of two hours a day, seven days a week. There were even days, when I would go to the gym twice in one day. What I did not realize, was that stress in my work life and excessive workout regimen was taking a toll on my health.

为了缓解压力，我会去健身房至少锻炼两个小时，一周七天，一天不落。在当时我没有察觉到的是，工作带来的压力和过度的锻炼会给我的健康带来的不利影响。

Friday December 20, 2013 will be forever etched in my memory. That fateful morning, I was exhausted, and my spirit told me to stay home and get some much-needed rest, but I didn’t listen. Driven by my ambition, I jumped out of bed and drove to the gym for a vigorous work-out. 

2013年的12月20日，星期五，这天我永生难忘。那个不讨喜的早晨，我筋疲力尽，直觉告诉我要待在家，多休息会儿补充必要的精力，但是我不以为然。靠着意志力起床后，我开车去了健身房锻炼。

As a result, I suffered a severe hemorrhaging stroke induced by a rigorous work load and around-the-clock schedule. During my time in the hospital, the neurologist told me something very startling,” It was your drive that got you in here, and your drive will get you out.” Then, he said something that stunned me. I asked him if I had stayed in bed that morning, would I have had the stroke? He said a resounding…” No.”

结果是，紧锣密鼓的锻炼计划加之过度的锻炼负荷引发了颅内出血引起的急性中风。在医院里，神经学的医生说了一些让我很震惊的话，：“就是你的偏执让你来医院，偏执还会让你的生活脱离正轨”。然后他又补充了些，我问他如果我那天早上不去锻炼就在床上躺着，是不是就不会中风了。他回答，对，那就不会中风了。

My message is simple, but powerful…

我要传递的信息很简单，但是很深刻

Take nothing for granted!

不要掉以轻心！

DARE! To believe God for miracles!

要勇敢！相信上帝会创造奇迹！

And face adversity…with an attitude!

面对挫折要表明自己的态度！
