Saving Money For Future
Is it better to enjoy your money when you earn it or is it better to save your money for some time in the future? This is a controversial issue in today’s China. Some people have the habit of saving money. For them, spending less and saving more is the best way to manage their money. Others would like to spend money immediately. They consider today is the most important; they just want to live a happy life for now. Personally speaking, I prefer the former opinion.
Most Chinese people prefer saving money. According to China Statistical Yearbook, Chinese savings rate has been high, higher than other developing countries and much higher than many developed ones. Many experts explain that Chinese people emphasize saving instead of consumption because of their uncertainty of the future. “Save it for rainy day.” That’s a popular motto among them. Choosing between spending money or putting it in savings account at the bank, Chinese people always put it in the bank, considering that they need to have money set aside for expenses on education, housing and unforeseen emergencies.
As a conservative person, I think saving money is necessary in life. It is well-known that life is not always smooth. When facing some sudden difficulties that need a large number of money, we can easily solve this problem if we have saved some money before. Emergencies could arrive at any moment. I might have an unexpected illness while I am at school. There might be costs that won’t be covered by the school insurance. One of my family members may need help, I will have to send them money. You can’t predict emergencies like this, but you can be prepared. I need to save money for these emergencies.
All in all, there is necessity of saving, if people want to have a harmonious life in the future. Especially when people are not rich, they cannot spend money carelessly. They must plan ahead in order to be prepared for any accident in life.
