1.Where + be +sb. + from? = Where do/does sb. come from? 某人来自哪里？

 e.g. 1)----Where’s your pen pal from? 你笔友来自哪里？

      -----He/She is from Australia. 他/她来自澳大利亚。

（同义句）----Where does your pen pal come from?

          ----He/She comes from Australia.

2)-----Where are you from? 你来自哪里？

 ------I am from China. 我来自中国。

 (同义句）----Where do you come from?

          ----I come from China.

2.be from=come from 来自于

3.---Where + do/does + sb. + live? 某人住在哪里？

---sb. live/lives in + 地点. 某人住在……

 e.g. 1) ---Where do you live? 你住在哪里？

      ---I live in Tokyo. 我住在东京。

2）---Where does he live? 他住在哪里？

   ---He lives in Paris. 他住在巴黎。

4.live 的用法

live in + 地点：居住在……

live with sb. 与某人一起生活

5.---What language/languages do/does sb. speak? 某人讲什么语言？

---sb. speak/speaks + 语言. 

 e.g. 1)--- What language/languages do they speak?

      ---They speak Chinese.

     2)--- What language/languages does she speak?

      ---She speaks English.

6.pen pal  笔友

7.want 的用法

want + sth. 想要某物 I want a pen pal in China. 我想要一个中国笔友。

want to do sth. 想要做某事 I want to go to a movie. 我想要去看电影。

8.in 的用法

in + 国家： in China 在中国

in + 地点：in school=at school 在学校 in the city 在城市 in the world 在世界上

in + 月份：in May 在五月

in + 颜色：in red 穿红色的衣服

9.喜欢做某事：1)like doing sth.(指习惯性的喜欢，喜欢一般性的事物，喜欢的时间长)

       e.g.   I like going to the movies with my friends and playing sports.我喜欢和我的朋友一起去看电影，做运动。

               2)like to do sth.(指一时兴起的喜欢，喜欢特定的事物，喜欢的时间短)

  两者在美无明显区别。类似的还有love doing sth./ love to do sth.

10.go to the movies=go to a movie=go to see a movie= go to see the movies去看电影

see the movies=see a movie 看电影

11.play sports 做运动

12.write to sb = write a letter to sb=write sb. a letter 给某人写信；写信给某人

e.g. Can you write to me soon? = Can you write a letter to me soon? =Can you write me a letter soon? 你能快点写信给我吗？

13.on weekends 在周末

on the weekdays 在平时

14.Please write and tell me about yourself. 请写信给我并告诉我关于你自己。

15.speak  say   tell的比较

 speak 说某种语言:  speak + 语言   speak English 讲英语

                   speak a little + 语言  speak a little Japanese 讲一点点的日语

e.g. I can speak English and a little French. 我能讲英语和一点点的法语。

 say 说某事/某东西: say sth. in + 语言

                  say to sb. 对某人说

 tell 告诉某人：tell sb. sth.= tell sth. to sb. 告诉某人某事

               tell sb. about sth.

               tell sb. to do sth. 告诉某人去做某事

               tell sb. not to do sth. 告诉某人别去做某事

               tell a lie/story/joke 撒谎/ 讲故事/ 讲笑话

               tell me about yourself 告诉我关于你自己
