Leading Children in the Right Direction

       Since the reform and opening up of China, our country has made great progress. Our world is now full of different colors and opportunities, especially for children. Children who have been regarded as flowers of our motherland are now taken better care of. They are really living in a very comfortable environment.

      This is good but it is sometimes bad for them since the golden age of innocence seems to have disappeared. The new generation of Chinese live in a culture saturated with Hollywood movies, rock music, and media which confronts them with sex and violence. As Children are naturally vulnerable both emotionally and spiritually, these things affect children most seriously.

      What shall we do so as to protect children from the media which seems to be seeping into every aspect of our lives. Obviously, there is no sense in trying to protect children from exposure to it because it is almost inevitable. We should teach them from an early age how to interpret what they are seeing. Teach them to dismiss sex and violence as tasteless trash. We can also use media at our disposal and show children the wonders of the world, inspire and stimulate them. It is our responsibility to lead them in the right direction.

Wealth, health and happiness 

 As to what are the elements of happiness, the answers can be varied greatly. Yet, it is universally acknowledged that the most essential constituent is health. Without a fit body and sound mentality, how can you take on genuine smiles everyday?  Then what about health, can it bring you happiness? It may be not. It is true that if a person possesses large sums of money, he or she is allowed to buy a wide range of articles, such as books, clocks, houses, but by no means will he or she be able to exchange them for knowledge, time and home. Without this spiritual fulfillment, they would still find it hard to be truly immersed in happiness.

  Nowadays, health has become an increasingly concerned topic among people from all walks of life. Different people adopt different measures to obtain health. Usually those who spend generous amount of money on exotic gourmet food and beauty saloons are anything but happy, because those fat-laden food may build up on their waist and years may still wrinkle their face and they may easily regain their weight by the smallest cheese burg. These can be the best proof of the truth that money can not buy health. But happiness, on the contrary, may generate health to some extent. A happy mind can take you everywhere. So long as you maintain a jocund mood, health will no longer be far away.

   Wealth, health and happiness are the common aspirations of everyone, but only those wise enough can achieve them at the same time. So try to strike a balance.

Working in a Multinational Company or as a Civil Servant? 

A Decision to Make Before Graduation.

Today, seeking a job in a large joint venture company is still one of the best choices for many university graduates. And yet, there is also a growing trend for graduating students to prepare for civil servant recruitment examinations to work for the government office. 

To be a white-collar in a multinational company or to be a civil servant, each has advantages and disadvantages of its own. 

First, a job with the former means high pay but longer working hours. They have to weigh the loneliness of being away from home against the opportunity to make new friends.

Second, one might be able to develop his or her abilities rapidly and fully in a high competitive environment, which of course also makes his or her jobs an extremely tiring and stressful one. However, in my hometown, sheltered by family influence and surrounded by good friends, one might never meet the challenge of developing his or her unknown potential.

Third, promotion in a multinational company is based largely on one’s merits and contributions, therefore one does not have to worry too much about strained relations, though it is by no means easy to get promoted in such companies. 

Despite all the advantages of being a white-collar, I have a strong desire to be a civil servant. 

For one thing, it is a stable job and has little risk in work and life in general. 

For another, the pay rises for civil servant has shown that working for the government is getting very desirable. 

Most important of all, I enjoy working for people, for the general public. So instead of being my mother’s baby all my life, I’ll make parents feel proud of me. 

Working in a multinational Company or as a civil Servant?

The traditional and on-line shopping  

With the help of the internet, shopping online becomes increasingly popular nowadays. It has a influence on the traditional shopping way that we buy things in real-life stores. Comparing the two methods, there are advantages and disadvantages in both of them.

Traditional shopping is a funny way. We can go to shop with friends, enjoy the sunshine, communicate with the shopkeeper and bargain the goods. The products are really existent and you can touch them or compare them. Also, we can try clothes to sure whether the color and the fashion are suit ourselves. Nevertheless, there are weak points shopping outside .It is not convenient and it wastes time, moreover we are easy to get tired of walking from one shop to another.

By contrast with traditional purchasing way, shopping online is more quickly and conveniently. We can buy things at any time and it is not necessary to worry about the weather is good or not. Besides, the internet offers extensive information and the products online are so many that you have more choices .Many of them are even much cheaper than you buy in department store. 

Yet, there are also disadvantages shopping online. It may be unsafe to enter private card details on the internet. It is easy to be cheated when you shop online. Furthermore, the appearances of the products which are showed in the shop on the net are often different from in the real life. You may not receive the things that you want exactly. Besides, the products may not be delivered on time. Moreover, we have to pay for postage extra for the goods that we buy on line .

In a word, to choose the traditional method or to choose the modern method is just depending on our need and our habits. We can weigh the pros and cons both of them and choose either way to facilitate our lives. 

5．Directions: Nowadays more and more people have the long-cherished dream of going abroad for further study. Some parents even send their children in middle school for overseas study. The issue concerning overseas study has been boiling over into a hot debate. Some people think overseas study will beneficial while others don’t think so. In this part, you are allowed 40 minutes to write a composition of no fewer than 150 words on the title: On Overseas Study. Your composition should be based on the following outline:

Some college students dream of going abroad for further study. They believe that there are many up-to-date research facilities, teaching equipment, world famous professors and good learning environment in some foreign universities. All these will contribute to their development.

Others think that college students can also fully develop themselves by studying at home universities. Though some learning conditions at home are not as good as those abroad, there are still some advantages of studying in one’s own country. For example, you don’t have to worry about the tuition fee or living expenses and there is no language or cultural barrier.

As to me, I think both of the above opinions are partially convincing. Everything depends on your own situation. If fate smiles upon you and you can afford all the tuition and fees to study abroad, you should seize the opportunity and achieve more. Otherwise, you can be equally successful at home by diligence. To sum up, what counts is not where one studies, but how much he achieves after his studies.

On overseas study

  　　Recent years, more and more Chinese people have chosen to study abroad. To this tendency, some people think it is not good, as most of the overseas learners do not come back, whereas I hold a different opinion. 

　　In my opinion, it is a good thing that more Chinese people go abroad. There are three reasons. First, the overseas learners can improve their ability through the study. They can grasp advanced technologies and their language ability can be improved as well. Second, with the rapid development of China, more and more overseas learners will choose come back, using their abundant knowledge studied abroad to serve for the motherland. The third, the government and most domestic enterprises are willing to provide favorable treatments to attract them to come back. 

　　Although some do not want to come home, we are glad to see that there are more overseas learners chosen to work at home than before. For the above reasons, I think it is not a bad thing for more and more Chinese

study abroad.

   In a competitive society, people are inevitably involved with each other and we affect each other all the time, so it is very necessary for people to establish    harmonious relationship between people. People are concerned about how to get on with one another in harmony.

 How to build good relationship with others

As a freshman or a new staff of a corporation, you probably be bothered by how to build good relationship with your friends, colleagues and bosses. Now there are some useful tips that are supposed to help you someway. Generally speaking, there’re 3 essential steps in different stages. First and foremost, you are suggested that be as polite as possible in order to leave a deep impression to him/her when meet for the first time. Moreover, introduce yourself to him/her on your own initiative. As we know, smile is the best gift at the first sight of a stranger. Consequently, a smiling expression is extremely important. When he/she has done an arduous assignment, you’d better sing high praise for his/her achievement. Meanwhile, show your respect for him/her. Suppose that one of colleagues is introverted and seldom talks to you, are you going to keep silent and have a cold war with him/her? In order to make your relationship better with others, you’d better try to communicate with him/her on your own initiative. Besides, you are advised to seek resonant points between you and him/her. As a result, in our daily life, you are due to be a person with high aspirations and determination, also being good at “digs” others’ interest and strongpoint. In that case, the distance between you and he/she is gradually shortened by sharing the same interest and hobby. Therefore, trying your best to comprehend and accept others’ interest is awfully important. Once you have found the one’s interest, you talk about and mention it frequently. Contrarily, it is crucial that to be more euphemistic or indirect in case that he/she has done something incorrect or there is shortcoming on him/her. Naturally, things would turn better under your effort. Eventually, it is suggested that you still have to keep in touch with him/her in the days to come in order to further your relationship. As a saying says, “Friendship is just like a cup of tea. The longer you hide it, the denser it will be. Don’t consider the effort you have done on good relationship is brief .By contraries, it is a long-term course. For instance, when he/she is now in trouble, it’s the best time to express your sympathy and true friendship. Exert yourself to comfort him/her and do him/her a favor in time. The spark of friendship will spurt without a doubt. Moreover, to share your happiness and sadness with him/her will make your relationship get steadier and steadier step by step. ON Christmas, Spring Festival and other festival, a card, a telephone call, and an e-mail even a short message will remind him/her of your rare friendship. Needless to say, relationship is firm and would last forever. In a word, a good relationship is not easy to build .However, steady relationship often bases on individual effort and discernment, so we could make good use of every chance to “dig” and “exploit” our relationship. Here comes the conclusion: being observant and conscientious would always lead to the success of great relationship.

My Ideal Job

There are various kinds of jobs in the world, but different people are attracted by different jobs because everyone has his own interest and destination, Many people consider an ideal job as a means of making more money and living more comfortably, It may sound reasonable because money is the foundation of life.

As far as my ideal job is concerned, I think I want to be a psychologist, I have made up my mind to do what I really want to so that I can realize my ideal, I believe interest is of the utmost importance in choosing a job, I have been interested in psychology for a long time, so I want to be a psychologist in the future, I think being a psychologist can help lots of people lead a happier life.

However, it isn't easy for me to become a qualified psychologist and many people around me think that it's unrealistic to me. Nevertheless, I'll make every effort to gain much more knowledge, patience, methods, etc. To live up to The name of a qualified psychologist. I believe my dream will come true someday.

  As for me, I have made up my mind to be a teacher. I choose to do so mainly for three reasons. First, I want to teach because I like the pace of academic calendar. Two long vacations offer me an opportunity for reflection, research and writing. Secondly, I want to teach because I like the freedom to make my own mistakes, to learn my own lesson, to stimulate myself and my students. And I can have the opportunity to keep on learning. Finally, I want to teach because, being around the students who are beginning to grow and change in front of me, I will grow and change with them too.

    But teaching is no easy job at all. I must study cleverly to obtain more knowledge. And, at the same time, I will make every effort to purify my soul so that I can become an architect of man's soul.

On pressure 

    Do cherish the memory of these days in my childhood because I have no pressure. In modern time, more and more people have faced their own pressure, such as living pressure, study pressure, work pressure, etc .Today I say the pressure about me .

    On living pressure. First, I am a student who has plenty of money about 800 yuan for a month. Compared to my classmate, I am rather lucky to have more. But I can't use it from 1st to 30th because of my casual wasting money. When my parents realize that, they give me less and less pocket money. Second, I have a girlfriend who has a good temper. We are both happy to stay together. I do not think I can look for a better girl, so I will appreciate her forever. Third, that is the most important :job opportunity becomes more and more intensive which makes me think more about my future .I m getting into a big, practical pressure.

    On study pressure. As we know, my biggest hope is to pass the CET-4 this term. Make thing wore, I feel somehow nervous whenever I am taking an important exam. There is no doubt that exams are important to us students. However, there are many significant exam waiting for me to pass. Besides, my girlfriend has passed CET-4,CET-6 that make me become confused.

    Hence it is important to have a right altitude towards our daily life. I must study hard and have good preparations. Only in this way can we avoid suffering from pressure of exams .In other words, I will do whatever I can to improve my study, and make the pressure as a driving force. 

           Is Stress a Bad Thing?

As everyone knows, stress is a natural part of everyday life and there is no way to avoid it. As the pace of modern life continues to increase, we are always feeling on the go from morning till night. And it is hard to slow down. Therefore, stress goes hand in hand with the life in a competitive society.

   Different people, however, think of stress quite differently. Some believe that stress is not the bad thing it is often supposed to be. They are of the opinion that a certain amount of stress is vital to provide motivation and give purpose to life. Others argue that stress contributes to one's mental decline and hence endangers his health. According to them, relaxation, the opposite of stress, is essential for a healthy mind and body.

   Personally, I'm in favor of the former view. I think it is impossible to avoid stress when one is entirely devoted to the career he pursues. In my opinion, it is only when the stress gets out of control that it can lead to poor performance and ill health.

11.   Travel Broadens the Mind

Travel Broadens the Mind 

 As far as we know, modern people have more time at their disposal, long holiday, 

and long weekend. As a matter of fact, travel has become part of our life. This situation is very encouraging, for it not only relaxes them physically but also broadens their minds.

Travel extend people’s horizon. For one thing, travel can expand people’s literary mind. A person may read or heard something but he can never get an accurate picture of it until he sees it for himself. For instance, William Cobbett, an English prose writer, wrote a very famous book about his experience visiting the English countryside. The book’s name is Rural Rides. For another thing, travel makes people more understand the people in other countries. A good example is that once most Americans had a strange bias against the Russia people until some young Americans traveled to Russia and saw with their own eyes that the Russians are human beings just like them.

As has been noted, people gain all kinds of knowledge through traveling. More importantly, the knowledge acquired from travel, as people will have found in their life, is no less than that from any influential reference books.

     To answer this question, different people may have different answers but my answer would be: experience. Experience makes my life worthwhile. Experience here include both sad experience and happy experience. Of course, I know everyone of us prefer to have happy experiences, but for me, I value more the sad experiences.

 Sometimes, it takes the adverse conditions for people to understand more about life. Sometimes, it takes solitude to people, for people to understand who they really are and what they want. Sometimes, it takes being hurt for people to be more sensitive about feelings. Sometimes it takes loss for people to understand this undeniable truth that is always try to appreciate the things when you still have it.

If I had never had love experience, I would never understand this truth. To have strong feeling for someone is very easy but to perfectly understand the people you love and to stay compatibly and harmoniously with him sometimes is not so easy. 

And if I had never had the experience of traveling, I would never have understood the ecological crises that we are facing today and I would never pay enough attention to sustainable development.

So, life isn’t always what one likes, and I’m ready for everything it will bring to me, especially the sadness and frustrations. In my mind, life is more like a journey. It’s about a wondrous journey to the greatest discovery of this life.

So, I hope at the end of my life journey, I can say proudly, I have experienced everything I want to experience, maybe some of them are not so pleasant, but I have no regret because my life is rich, meaningful, and worthwhile.
