    In learning English, spelling receives the least attention among quite a few students nowadays. The reasons are simple but thought-provoking. 

    Topping the list is the prevailing use of computers to handle our daily paper works. Since many word processing soft wares are becoming increasingly powerful to correct almost all spelling mistakes, we tend to neglect the exact spelling of many words. Besides, some people hold the notion that as long as one is able to communicate in English, it is not at all important whether he can spell the words he uses or not. Last but not least, our exams do not test spelling so much as they used to, shifting students’ attention to other aspects of English acquisition. 

    Therefore, in order to change this situation, students should be encouraged to depend less on automatic spelling check soft wares. At the same time, teachers should highlight the importance of correct spelling, which, to a certain extent, indicates the degree of English level.

Nowadays, a lot of parents are overdoing in taking care of their children. From doing laundry to job hunting, they have made every effort. However, instead of making life easier for the next generation, such deeds deprive the youth of opportunities to grow independent. 

In order to cultivate a sense of independence in their children, parents are supposed to first stop doing what the youngsters are able to do for themselves. Besides, it is advisable that parents expose their children to more difficulties and failures on purpose, helping them to learn valuable lessons from setbacks. Last but not least, parents should infuse their children with a sense of responsibility. 

It is hopeful that all parents realize an independent soul dies in a bed of roses and find a more sensible way to love their kids.

As an increasingly number of people are concerned about environment protection, it is widely agreed that creating a green campus is vitally important. 

    A green campus means much more than planting trees, flowers or grass on the campus or having indoor plants in the school buildings. It means that everyone on campus, including faculty members and students, should be aware of the importance of environment protection and make an effort to contribute to environment protection in whatever he does. 

    So what can we do to create a green campus? First, there should be a year-round campaign on campus to keep everyone constantly aware of the significance of environment protection. Second, whatever we do, we should take environment protection into consideration and make it a habit to save printing paper, water, and other resources. Finally, new technology should be introduced for this purpose.
