                                Reduce Waste on Campus

As is known to all, waste on campus has become a more and more serious problem. We can easily see many students dump a lot of food in the garbage can. Some students spend thousands of yuan buying fashionable clothes and so on.

The negative effects of waste can be shown in the following aspects. In the first place, it makes some students dependent on their parents for money, which is harmful to their development. If they don’t learn to support themselves, they will be “useless people” when they graduate. In the second place, it is not easy for our parents to arrange for our schooling. Last but not the least important, there is no denying the fact that our country is still poor. There are many people who cannot go to university and many poor people still need our help.

As far as I am concerned, I should set a good example to reduce waste on campus. First of all, I will refrain from wasting anything, from food to stationery. What’s more, I’m determined to call on more schoolmates to fight against waste. Only through these measures can we hope to reduce waste on campus.

　　Upon graduation, virtually all college students confront the problem of choosing. It is truly a tough choice. Student's opinions differ greatly on this issue. Some hold that priority should be given to their interest in the job, but others take the attitude differ that salary is the most critical factor influential choices.

　　As for myself, I prefer the latter view. A well-paid job exerts a tremendous fascination on great number of people, with no exception to me. Although it might be impossible to measure the value of one's job in terms of money. salary counts most when I choose my future career. In my view our career largely depend on how and where we have been brought up. I come from a poor urban family and my parents are both laid-off workers. In order to finance my tuition. They have been working hard over the past four years. As the only son is my family, I have to shoulder the burden of supporting my family.

　　In short, salary is the first consideration in my choice of career.

                                        The Popularity of Micro-blog

In recent years, Micro-blog has been more and more popular. Precisely, Micro-blog has become part of people’s life. It seems that everybody has a Micro-blog now.

 Many factors contribute to the widespread of Micro-blogging. First, Micro-blog enables people to convey their emotions and individual thoughts more conveniently. Micro-blog has no fixed rules and needn’t professional knowledge and skills, which enables millions of people to have a voice and connect with others. Moreover, people can express their instant feelings at any time and anywhere if they have a phone. Second, Micro-blog really provides a platform for ordinary people to display their abilities, and it is a good form for people to share views and to get information. However, Micro-blogging can also be potentially dangerous as it may give away people’s privacy and other significant information. It might be used by some people who have ulterior motives to spread rumors or to slander other people.

　　In my opinion, Micro-blogging provides us comfort and also inevitably some concerns. We should be careful while using it.

　　Social network websites have rapidly increased in popularity over the past few years. Many people have registered and become members of some social network websites, such as , Kaixin and Twitter. These websites have become a part of their daily life.

　　People’s opinions vary greatly on social network sites. Supporters regard social network websites as places to share feelings and experiences with their friends. Besides, they say these websites provide various interesting games and can help people relax. However, opponents think it is difficult to protect users’ privacy on social network sites. Apart from that, they maintain that users’ chances to gain employment may be reduced as more and more employers take the images which users portray on social network sites into consideration.

　　As far as I’m concerned, social network sites serve as a good platform for us to make new friends and keep in touch with old ones. Still, we should be aware of the potential dangers involved. It is very necessary to adjust our privacy settings to control who has access to our personal information.

五．富二代问题

　　It is widely accepted that we have been living in a "the rich gets richer whereas the poor gets poorer" age in terms of income gaps within a generation. There is an old saying in China, "the offspring of low-income can grow faster" which means the children of low-income family have better problem-solving abilities during adulthood. But is it really true?

Recently I have read much news about affluent 2nd generation which in most cases is negative. The characters of them are always criticized by the public. Sometimes they just think about themselves and forget other people's feelings including their parents. I have never known them to behave any other than selfishly.

　　Personally, I believe children raised in household not in possession of a good fortune are conditioned in their early life to exercise self-control and self-restraint. As they are cultivated to have a strong mind and have many beautiful virtues inside, they are more likely to be loved or accepted by the public. As far as I know, personal wealth is not measured by what your parents may give you, but is measured by personal ability and personal virtues.

六．经济发展与环境保护

　　　Economic development and environmental protection are a pressing issue primarily for developing countries where. This has seriously polluted our environment and, with the global environmental campaign gaining momentum, many people in China call for the precedence of environmental protection over economic development.

 　　Any attempt to pose economic development and environmental protection as diametrically contradictory is simple-minded. Since no country is willing to stop its economic development, the best way is to strike a balance between the two and to heighten the environmental awareness of those solely concerned with economic development.

　　　The relationship between economic development and environment protection is a complex one. Environmental problems arise as a result of industrialization and only technologies can deliver solutions to those problems. Rather than simply returning to the past of non-human activity, we can seek active technological solutions to replace fossil fuels. By the time this key contributor to environmental deterioration is eradicated, man will achieve a win-win result between economic development and environmental protection.

七．过度消费

                        My view on over-consumption

Some people are in favor of the idea of over-consumption. They point out the fact that china’s rapid the economic development has materially enriched the lives of ordinary Chinese people, and at the same time increased our demands as consumers. They also argue that the rising consumption helps drive economic growth.

However, other people stand on a different ground. They consider it harmful to consume more that what their family point out that the dogged pursuit for more accounts for our debt, anxiety, waste and overload. An example can back up this argument: The American financial crisis caused by over-consumption made the people of the world worse off. There is some truth in both arguments. But I think the disadvantages of over-consumption outweigh the advantages. In addition to the above-mentioned negative effects, the surging consuming demand threatens to exhaust our resources and spoil our environment.

To conclude, our government is advocating ideas of “conservation-minded society”and sustainable development. Whether due to sense of guilt about waste, or a simple desire o save money, we need to promote stainable consumption.
