1. Enhance students’ reading abilities.

2. Enable Ss to adopt the strategy reading a speech and catch the main idea of the text.

3. Arouse students’ interest in talking about Olympics and make them feel proud of our country.

1. Help Ss know some background knowledge about the history and the development of the Olympic Games.

2. To master the way of reading a speech

教材内容分析：本课教学内容是新课标，Sporting events Reading The honorable games，本课的内容主要介绍奥运会的一些比赛项目和奥运精神，透过奥运的历史来了解各国的奥运状况。这样的课文需要有丰富的历史背景知识，相比较而言，难度较大。

学生情况分析: 学生对奥运知识有所了解，但了解有限，尤其是外国文化的背景知识，因此，对于高中生来说，阅读是非常重要的。

————堂英语阅读课教学设计案例和改进

一、案例背景

本人节选的是译林牛津版模块4第二单元的reading -----The honourable games ，讲述奥运盛况以及奥运项目和历史意义，对于我们年轻一代弘扬奥运精神，增强爱国主义责任感有着重要的意义。因此本课的教学尤其重要。以前教授这一课，通常以疏通串讲为主，但自从实施了高效课堂以来，采用多媒体的教学手段，使本节课富于了新的形式，通过学生的合作探究，培养了学生自主学习的能力。

二、过程描述

根据高效课堂，预习导航模式的要求，首先制定了导学案。导学案包含三部分，教学目标，预习导航，合作探究。

学生情况分析: 学生对奥运知识有所了解，但了解有限，尤其是外国文化的背景知识，因此，对于高中生来说，阅读是非常重要的一种提高方法。

Step 1Lead –in 

改动前: 让学生简单地回答几个问题，由于对背景知识的缺乏，多次出现学生回答不出的现象；

改动后：以多媒体的方式向学生展示了一些生动的图片，(例如，北京奥运会开幕的盛大场景)唤起学生对奥运的回忆，激起学生的阅读兴趣，从而引起学生的共鸣，为阅读后面的文章做好铺垫。设置情境，循序渐进，层层递进。设置富有情趣的情境，激发他们的阅读欲望，积极主动地进行自主探究。循序渐进的设计问题 , 激发学生的创造思维，层层深入地引导学生进行自主和协作学习。

问题2 讨论一些奥运知识，给学生一些简要的提示，使学生有话可说，从所知知识——中国的奥运会谈起。任务驱动，层层深入。使学生利用资源自主探究、解决一系列层层深入的问题。在教学中，教师作为问题的精心设计者和疑难问题的点拨者，培养学生组织语言的能力.

Step2 Fast—reading 

改动前：3. Who restarted the modern Olympic Games?

改动后：3.Who brought the contemporary Olympic Games back to life?

问题3 有了一定的改新，用了bring --- back to life 这个短语，让学生快速地浏览原文，找出正确答案。本步骤旨在培养学生快速阅读的策略之一,通过本文每段的关键词获得大意，第一遍通过阅读每段开头获得关键词，可以从而根据关键词理清整篇文章的结构。

Step 3 careful –reading 

改动前1. Read the passage again and check the errors in each sentence.

改动后 将Read the passage again 改成Listen to the tape，避免了频繁阅读的烦闷气氛，又训练了学生的听力能力，一举两得。

改动前：没有问题3What are the differences / similarities between the ancient and the modern Olympic Games? 

改动后：增添了问题3，完成表格的填写，使学生对课文的细节有了进一步的了解，趁热打铁，将问题转化，将所要学习的新知识隐含在一个或几个问题之中，学生通过对所提的任务进行分析、讨论，并在老师的指导、帮助下找出解决问题的方法，最后通过任务的完成而实现对所学知识的意义建构。

Step 4. Discussion

改动前：没有问题1.What qualities do you think these athletes have in common?，直接到问题2，缺乏必要的过渡。

改动后：增添问题1，对课文总结，经过讨论奥运精神，使文章的主旨得以升华，相比较前一部分而言,更加层层深入，很自然过渡到文章的精华部分。但此部分要求用一些标记词进行表达，既锻炼了思维，训练了口语，又增强了行动意识，也为Task中关于标记词的学习做好了铺垫。将学生通过对材料的收集、整理和内化而形成的学习成果，在全班学生中展示，使学生获得成功的喜悦，从而激发学生的后续学习热情。

改动后增加了Step 5. consolidation , 考虑到时间关系，给学生提供了一定量的习题，巩固课堂所学知识，因本篇文章较长，且专用名词较多，有一定难度，所以分成几个部分进行阅读，每个部分安排了不同形式的阅读任务，通过回答问题、判断正误、填表格、选择题和任务型阅读等各种活动使学生熟悉文章内容。尤其在最这一活动中设计了类似任务型阅读的表格，训练学生获取信息、处理信息的能力；改进前缺少这一环节，结构不紧凑。

完成改进后本节课有如下感触：

我充分发挥自制网络课件的优势，使本节课的内容更加充实，容量更多。既贯通了所要学的知识，又拓展了课外知识，使得本节课学生在学习过程中兴趣更加浓厚,学生积极地自主探究，讨论问题热烈，课堂气氛活跃。课堂设计新颖独特，环环相扣，层层递近，导入部分调动了学生参与的积极性. 最后的讨论上升到情感高度，让学生获得知识与心灵的双重收获。整堂课完整有序，充分调动了学生的参与热情，使学生愿意积极配合完成各个环节.习题部分锻炼了学生，题型与高考接轨，符合新课标的要求，体现了人文思想。

但本节课也有不足之处。最后，由于时间的，没有利用奥运精神来激发学生热情和让其树立远大志向，战胜困境的精神就草草收尾。这一切都是对学生不够了解及对课堂节奏控制和驾驭能力不足造成的。

这堂课让我充分意识到在教学过程中教师扮演的重要角色和担当的责任。只有不断学习和探索才能在教学的道路上越走越远，才能增加教学的魅力和体验教学带给教师的快乐。
