More than twenty years ago, my hometown wasjust a small, old and poor town. Most of people were farmers. There were fewfactories. The people didn’t have enough food to eat and wore old clothes. Theyhad a hard life.

Great changes have taken place in the pasttwenty years. The people have found a lot of ways of making money. Now thereare many tall buildings which are very beautiful. Roads are wide and clean.People can take buses or drive their own cars to go to work. Many people havecell phones and personal computers. People’s living conditions have improved alot. Thanks to the government’s efforts, my hometown is becoming more and morebeautiful.

There are many places of interest inHeyuan, such as Sujiawei Wanlu Lake and so on. Wanlu Lake is a beautiful place.The water is clean and not polluted. There are all kinds of fish in it. You cango boating, go fishing and have a picnic there. It is really a good place tospend your holiday. Besides, you can go and visit Heyuan Museum. There you cansee a lot of dinosaur egg fossils.

4.春节TheSpring Festival

Dear Mike,

How are you? I’m really glad that you areinterested in traditional Chinese festivals. There are many traditionalfestivals in China, such as Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Day and so on. I’d liketo introduce the Spring Festival to you. Spring Festival is the most importanttraditional holiday in China. It usually lasts for 15 days.

Days before the festival, people cleantheir houses. They think cleaning sweeps any bad luck. They decorate theirhouses with paper cuts. On the eve of the festival, family members get togetherand have big meals. Then they watch the Spring Festival Gala on TV. Atmidnight, they set off fireworks to welcome the New Year. During the festival,kids get lucky money from their relatives. People visit their relatives andfriends. They wish each a happy year and good luck. How happy they are!

5端午节Dragon Boat Festival

Dragon Boat Festival is my favouritefestival. It is a traditional Chinese festival held on the fifth day of thefifth month of the Chinese calendar.

During the holiday of Dragon Boat Festival, Igot together with my family to have a big meal. We often ate the zongzi. Ittasted very nice. And we saw the Dragon Boat Races. I felt excited because therace was bustling with noise and excitement. At Dragon Boat Festival, we alsodrank realgar wine. Some people thought drank realgar wine can protectthemselves from illness.

 DragonBoat Festival was interesting and I like it very much.
