How Did Internet Change Our Shopping Habits

Good morning，everyone！

   It’s my great honor to do this presentation here. I would like to answer whatever you may raise, and I hope I can make a good performance today. 

My topic today is : How Did Internet Change Our Shopping Habits? My speech is divided into four parts: past, present, advantages, disadvantages. 

In the past , people went shopping in malls. However, with the popularity of the Internet, more and more people do shopping online. Without going out of their home, they may look for whatever items they want and pay online only by clicking the mouse. 

  There are Some Shopping Websites that people often do shopping on them. They are Taobao, dangdang, ebay, paipai and some other websites.

 This is the page of a shopping website. We can see books, clothes, mobile phones, Laptops and many other products. You can buy almost any imaginable product on the internet .  There is a search box on the page, which is very useful. The first thing you do when buying something online is searching for the items that you want to buy on the website. You can usually do this by typing one or two keywords in the search box to help you find what you need. It is very convenient !

This picture shows the change of Trading Volume of China's Online Shopping Market from 2007 to 2013. It is clear that we are going to see an explosion of shopping on the Internet .

Why does Online Shopping become An Increasing Trend？What are the advantages of online shopping?

Of course, online shopping has a lot of advantages. You can do shopping at home .You don’t have to queue up in busy shops and you can buy almost any imaginable product with just a few clicks of your  mouse. So it is very convenient. You can shop whenever you like as the on-line shops are open 24 hours a day. The owner of online shop doesn’t have to pay the high rent, which means the consumer can pay much less for the same product than they have to do in the real shop. Since there is a search box on the page, it is easy to find what you are looking for ! After you have decided on the goods you want to buy, the store will send it to you home. 

But online shopping also has some disadvantages . The biggest disadvantage of shopping through the Internet is that you can only see pictures of a product. . Therefore you will lose the pleasure of touching and trying things. You can not check the quality of goods ! And Your personal Information may be stolen ! Some one may steal your credit card number, your account password and your address. 

     So, doing shopping in the real shops or in the online shops , it depends on your choice.
