My favourite wild animal is the squirrel. Squirrels look small and cute. They have big eyes, a long tail, and soft thick fur. They can cover their bodies with their long, thick tails to keep warm while sleeping. It is really fun. 

Squirrels live mainly on nuts, fruit and seeds. They usually dig holes in trees and use them as their homes. Then they will look for food and save them in the holes for the cold winter. Squirrels are good at running and jumping. If they must swim, they can do it well.

Squirrels are very smart and lovely animals. However, more and more trees are now cut down. Squirrels have fewer and fewer living areas. It’s time for us to take action to help protect these cut animals.
