英文面试准备

At the beginning, I must say, it is really a great honor to have this opportunity for an interview. My name is Qiao Lu. I’m currently a sophomore at Nanjing Normal University, majoring in finance in the Business Academy. I’d like to introduce myself in following 3 aspects: my studies, my working experience in the Student Union and my strong determination about the future.

First, about my studies. As we all know, college study calls for more initiative. In the past year, I spent most of my time on study. My academic records kept distinguished among the whole department, I was granted the first prize every semester, and my overall GPA ranked No.1 among 160 students. In my spare time, I have read economic books like Currency Wars and A Random Walk down Wall Street which motivated my interest in finance. So I have to mention my experience of major conversion. I used to study Electrical engineering and Automation in my first year. But later I found my interest is actually in finance. So I took the major conversion exam and ranked top 10 among over 200 students. Although what I learned now has little connection with my former major. But what I learned from my freshman year is the ability to study independently, working under high pressure and time limitation and an active mind. So I’m sure that I will keep doing a good job in the new academy.

Secondly, I want to say something about my working experience in the Student Union. Last year, I was the monitor of my class and the vice director of the Student Union Bureau. I did administrative jobs and dealt with personnel at all levels. I was also a host of many evening parties. These experiences teach me how to be highly organized and efficient, how to make good people management and obtain extensive social connections and how to be elegant when facing people.

Last but not the least; I’d love to show you my determination. I know maybe by now I am not the best student, but since the day I chose my major, I made up my mind that someday I must be the best in our academy. And I believe, with my positive study attitude, persistent hard-work and if possible, the proper guidance from guolairen association, one day I will achieve my goal.

Aoh, here comes to the end. This is me----Qiao Lu, a girl who is determined, self-motivated and with good interpersonal skills.

Strength and weakness

Well, I feel that my strongest asset is that I possess a stable personality and high sense of responsibility. As I grow up day by day, I am becoming more and more mature. And having the sense of responsibility not only means being responsible for what you do, which of course the most basic requirement, but also for yourself. For instance, being responsible for me will make sure that I will complete the task the teachers or mates give me, for it is a good train for my ability. It also will help me to reduce the waste of time and focus more time and energy to some vital things-----study and practice.

As for the weakness, I guess it should be the narrowness of my view. I used to be caught in my own tiny circle and have few chances to get a close look to the real financial world, which I think is a barrier to both my development and my financial study. But since I realized it, I began to do something to broaden my view. For example, recently, I keep concerning some economists’ microblogs, getting to know the latest news and policies both at home and abroad. Frequently, I exchange with other people by making comments in the forum on line. Meanwhile, I watched some videos pronouncing points on daily economic life.

The most sense of accomplishment and frustration

Oh, let me see, the experience that gives me the most sense of accomplishment. Well, I guess it should be becoming the winner of the “Freshman Cup” Debate Competition. We got through several rounds of competition and finally won the first prize. But you know all the success represent the past. The reason why I choose this one as my answer is that it taught me a lot: for example, making adequate preparations, being active, resourceful and cooperative and never forget to be graceful even so excited. What makes me very proud was that the judge praised me “speaking the sharpest point with such gentle words”.

Frustrated me? Well, yes. It was my poor performance in the mathematics Olympics games. I used to study mathematics Olympics in high school. And I hoped to win the first prize of the national mathematics Olympics games in order to get the recommendation for admission to university, but I failed. I realized that only when I never be trapped in my own circle ,watch the bigger world, see the gap and try my best to catch up with others, will it be closer between success and me.

The reason for joining the IBMT project

Well, the most important, it’s really an impressive project. There are probably (1\\2\\3) 3 reasons.

First, I know success have more or less connections with bright brain, opportunity, communication skills and so on. But the most essential one should be the persistent hard-work. I can promise that I will keep on working hard and pursuing excellence throughout my study. And I will never give up no matter what difficulties I meet with.

Second, I was deeply impressed by the speech which Mr. Wang Mai gave to us a week ago. I am determined to do everything I can to improve myself. However, I also realized that I haven’t made an accurate definition about my present situation and I have little profession knowledge. So I hope I can have a better understanding of my ability and the most suitable career for me throughout the IBMT study.

Third, I must admit that the trip to Hong Kong which includes the opportunity to work as a trainee in Mass Mutual and attend lessons in the Chinese university of Hong Kong sounds so amazing. And if I can obtain this opportunity, I believe it is definitely a great improvement of my view, ability and my understanding of the subject and profession involved with finance. Moreover, I can make acquaintance with many friends, or more precisely, comrades to learn and progress together.

In conclusion, I want to say it again, I really want to join the IBMT study and if it comes true, I will try my best to do a perfect job.
