A worker named Cater Chambers and a billionaire(亿万富翁) named Edward Cole are two kinds of people. They live in differernt lives. However, they meet for the first time in the hospital after they have cancer(癌症). Edward doesn’t want to share a room with Carter, but later they become friends.
Cater has a secret notebook. He writes all the things he wants to do before he dies and all the dreams in his notebook. He called it “the Bucket List”. He often takes the notebook out and read the lists and add something more. After knowing he has less than a year, Carter looks at the list sadly and decided to give up(放弃) these dreams. Edward finds the lists the next morning and asks Carter to try everything on it. As a rich man, Edward adds more things of himself to the lists. He pays the trips for both of them. They began an around-the-world vacation. They meet all kinds of exciting and strangerthings together.
During the trips, both of them understand the meaning of life. After Carter’s death, Edward crossed off “help a stranger ”from the list.

Once upon a time, there lived two brothers in Germany. As boys, they were interested in history and magic(魔术). When they grew older, they also liked to listen to old stories and then write them down. Later on, they had enough stories to make a book.
