My View on Chinese Education

Nowadays China is developing so fast, especially the economy, and has become one of the most influential countries in the world. However, there are still some challenges troubling the development of Chinese education. Education in china is facing some great challenges. Compared with the advanced education in other countries, the problems of Chinese education are obvious.

   First, the biggest challenge in my opinion is overcoming the exam based evaluations as the only method of measuring knowledge. Because exam-oriented education has violated the purpose, function and value orientation of education. Objects of education are people and students so education should be people-oriented. What is the essence? That should be a lifetime benefits for the students and teach them how to study and how to be a person. For a long time, it has been in political education instead of moral education. Moral education is full of political terms. The textbooks are edited just like that and the teacher still says so whether the students like and accept it or not. So the college students often skip class in a common course and deny the nihilism, pragmatism and relativism of the moral bottom line. 

 Second, the biggest drawback of Chinese education is its administration of university. The teacher is strict with us in the high school but ignores us at college. That is the key why so many college graduates can’t find a job. Because they learn little practical knowledge at college, they loose themselves and think they get 60 scores at examination is enough. They spend most of the time to have fun and entertain. Exam-oriented education is taught in order to cope with the examination by standard answer, equation formula, problem solved skills, which is a lifetime of useless knowledge for students. 

  To a certain extent, we can’t deny that examination system is a kind of relatively fair system. The poor students have the opportunity to study at college because this fair system. After we had a common university, it allows us to ponder how to stand out in the workplace as an ordinary college student. When we consider it, we find we have lost ourselves at college. 

  As for me, I think the schools should reduce the number of examinations and lower the status of scores. In this way, students can get escape the pressure from exams and prevent cheating as well. The key point of educational reform is delegated to school and open to the public. The government's management of the school mainly focuses on policy, policy formulation, the supply of transfer payments, inspection and evaluation, implement the education policy etc, rather than directly bring micro management to the school. Although the education in China is not perfect, it is staggeringly better than what's found in western countries. There is no doubt that the problems in Chinese education are more than what I have mentioned, but I hope education in China can speed up the development just as economy. And one day it will become stronger and stronger and we can find another better way to solve our educational problems. Everyone should make his efforts to improve our education system.
