Step 1 Greetings and revision. Revise the dialogues in Unit 1. (About 3 minutes)

Step 2 Warming-up (About 12 minutes)
Today we are going to learn Unit 3—“Is this your pencil?” First let’s learn some new words.
1. Show some personal possessions and write the new words on the blackboard: pencil, pen, book, eraser, ruler, pencil box, dictionary, schoolbag. (About 3 minutes)
2. Read the new words after the teacher and learn them by heart, then use my/your/his/her to read the words:my/ your/ his/ her pencil, pen, book, eraser, ruler, pencil box, dictionary, schoolbag. (About 3 minutes)
3. Practices
(1)Match the words with the things in the picture. (la) (About 3 minutes)
(2)Listen and check the things you hear. (2a) (About 3 minutes)
Step 3 Presentation (About 4 minutes)
Ask some students one by one to talk about his/her objects like this?

Step 4 Practice (About 14 minutes)
1. Listen and number the conversations. (lb) (About 2 minutes)
2. Work in pairs. Ask and answer like the ones in step 3. They can use other school things we have learned in this lesson. (About 3 minutes)
3. Listen and complete the conversation with the words in the box. (2b) (About 3 minutes)
4. Pair work:Ask about the things in the picture (2c), then let students make their own conversations using their personal possessions. (About 3 minutes)

5. Grammar Focus:Ask one or two pairs to ask and answer questions to express ownership. Then, let other students work in pairs. (About 3 minutes)
Step 5 Acting (About 8 minutes)
Identify ownership. Call out four students, each 7ith four different objects. Collect the objects from hem and have similar dialogues in step 3. The teacher begins to say:Excuse me, is this your eraser? No, it isn’t. — Continue until the objects are returned to the correct owners. Then call out five more students. Let one of them collect the objects and begin again.
