Treasure Every Minute

Hello, everyone. I’m glad to be here to give the speech.

In this world, there is one thing that is very fair to everyone, whether you are a male or a female, young or old, rich or poor. Does anyone know what it is?

Right, it’s time. The topic I am going to present to you is”Treasure Every Minute”. The clock is running, make the most of today.

To realize the value of one year, ask a student who failed a grade.

To realize the value of one month, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.

To realize the value of one week, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize the value of one hour, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.

To realize the value of one minute, ask a person who missed the train.

To realize the value of one second, ask a person who just avoided an accident.

To realize the value of one million second, ask a person who won a silver medal in Olympics.

Treasure every moment you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with.

And remember that time waits for no one. Yesterday is a history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present. The clock is running, make the most of today.

NO.1  Grace Darling

It is a true story. A ship with sixty people was traveling on the sea. But soon their engine was broken, so they had to float on the sea. Terribly, they met with the shipwreck because of the storm. Most of the people died, only nine people were alive. The Darlings lived on an island, they watched a light house. Grace saw the wreck first. She called her father at once. Finally she and her father saved nine people in the storm by boat. 

Grace wasn’t afraid of the storm, she is a brave young woman. After I read this book, I think we must be brave to do everything, and we should do our best to help people in trouble.

NO.2  The Centerville Ghost

An American family, Otis, bought an old house called Centreville. There was a ghost in the house, the ghost killed his wife in his past life. But they were not afraid of the ghost at all. And they always made fun of him, but he had no idea. So he stayed at room to find ways to pay out. At last, Virginia knew the truth of the ghost, he was killed by his brother. So she cried and prayed for him, then he could rest in “Garden of Death”.

This story teaches us: If we do something wrong, we should correct it in time. Though there are many bad things in the world, keep a kind heart is still very important.

NO.3  Dead Man’s Island

It tells a story about a girl and a famous singer. Carol was once a happy girl. But after her dad died, she became decadent. So her mother took her to English to begin a new life. At first, they found a job on an island. Pretty soon, Carol found out the secret of Mr. Ross, he was Jack Russo, a famous singer. He killed a girl in a car crash, so he lived on this island to hide himself. Carol decided to keep this secret for Mr. Ross. After she left the island, she never got back again.

If you do something terrible, maybe hiding yourself is a good way. Protect your secret, forget your past, then begin a new life. It will make you feel better.

NO.4  The Silent Brothers

John and Robert are brothers, but they didn’t talk with each other for ten years, just for a girl, Annie. Ten years ago, they often had fights because of Annie. Ten years later, they took turns to ask Annie to married one of them because of their sister’s money. Annie agreed both of them. So they had a fight again. In fact, Annie loved another man, and she didn’t want the money. When the brothers arrived her house, she put them into the same room.

Money is necessary, but family is more important. Don’t give up the family because of the money.

NO.5  Ear-Rings from Frankfurt

Jennifer was a quiet nurse. But her brother, Richard was different from her. He always troubled for Jennifer. Richard found a new job. He and his girlfriend, Windy worked for a thief, but they didn’t know. Their boss asked Windy to go on a business to Frankfurt, she was frightened. Richard called the police and helped them catch the thieves. When Jennifer knew it, she was pleased with her brother.

When we are in trouble, don’t be afraid, the best way is to ask for help. Or we can use our wisdom to save ourselves.
