（第四课时 教学设计）

一、教材分析

1．教学内容

本课时系教材本课时系教材《英语基础教程》（2）第六单元的第四课时，包括Vocabulary practice和Supplementary reading，具体内容为：利用各种语境练习词汇，对本单元重点词汇复习巩固；完成拓展阅读。

2．教学重点、难点

⑴教学重点

 复习巩固本单元所学单词和短语。

⑵教学难点  

 引导学生学会自我总结的方法。

二、教学目标

1.知识目标

⑴复习巩固本单元所学单词和短语。

⑵完成拓展阅读。

2.能力目标

(1)引导学生学会自我归纳总结的方法。

(2)能熟练拼写重点词汇。

3.情感目标

潜移默化的渗透健康生活方式在学生人生中的重要性，扩大学生的知识面。

三、教学步骤

Step One Revision

1.Review words and expressions. Teacher lead the students to make a sentence or phrase with the word. 

e.g.: anxious --- Don’t be anxious.

    avoid--- The boy managed to avoid being punished.

2.Have the students divide the words into three groups. 

Group 1--- nouns(muscle, prescription, ...)

Group 2--- verbs(avoid, hurt, regulate, ...)

Group 3--- adj/adv(anxious, inflamed, painful, serious, ...)

（设计意图:通过组词造句，学复习词语的用法，提高学生使用词汇的能力；通过词语分类，帮助学生理清思路；通过造句游戏，激发学生的语言输出能力。鼓励学生使用思维导图来呈现。）

Step Two Vocabulary practice

 1. Words Game. Have the students try to make more sentences or phrases as much as possible.

2.Complete Activity 15, Activity 16 and Activity 17，then check the answer. 

（设计意图:通过练习，复习词语的用法，提高学生使用词汇的能力，巩固本单元知识。）

Step Three Supplementary reading

Pre-reading: Do you know the harm of smoking?

While-reading: 

  1. T: Now we will read a story about Mr. King, read the passage quickly and answer the questions.

     What was wrong with Mr King？

     Was Mr King a smoker?

2. Skimming: skim the paragraph and judge the sentences.

Mr King got up to read the medicine book.

Mr King couldn’t understand the book, so tears ran down his face.

Mr King began to smoke when he was 19 years old.

Smoking too much caused Mr King’s lungs to turn black.

3. Scanning: scan the paragraph and answer the questions.

(1)When did Mr King begin to smoke?

(3)Why did the doctor tell Mr King to have an X-ray examination?

Post reading：

Remember these key phrases and complete the passage.

Step Four Summary 

Make a short summary of what we’ve learned today.

(1)Revise vocabulary and phrases：have a headache/back pain/cough/sore throat, get a toothache/stomachache, inflamed, serious, prescription, anxious, avoid, nap, regulate, solution, have difficulty in, write down 

   (2) New vocabulary and phrases: cancer, cough, lung, shadow, truth, X-ray, at midnight, lie down, not any longer, run down

Step Five Homework

1. Complete the part “Translation” in the workbook.

2. Prepare the test.
