Chinese Americans, also referred to as Chinese Americans, are individuals of Chinese descent who have become U.S. citizens, either by birth or through naturalization. This group is a part of the global Chinese community and includes those with Chinese heritage from Taiwan, Singapore, and other countries who have immigrated to the U.S. and acquired American citizenship.

1. ABC stands for "American-Born Chinese," a somewhat colloquial and humorous term used to describe Chinese descendants born in the United States.
2. There are generally three types of Chinese people in the United States: "CBC" (Chinese-Born Chinese), "CBA" (Chinese-Born American), and "ABC" (American-Born Chinese). The first two groups are deeply influenced by Chinese culture and are fluent in both Chinese and English. The third group, more influenced by American culture, often does not speak Chinese, but the impact of their ethnic relations and cultural traditions remains unchanged. Perhaps for many "ABCs," their degree of admiration for Western culture and aversion to it is less severe.
