智能信息检索课程第6讲

由中国人民大学信息学院联合微软亚洲研究院于2008年春季学期开设《智能信息检索》课程将于3月27日进行第六讲，微软亚洲研究院主任研究员李航博士将为大家带来题为“互联息检索基础”的学术报告。

Hang Li

Senior Researcher and Research Manager

Hang Li is senior researcher and research manager at Microsoft Research Asia. He is also adjunct professor at Peking University, Xian Jiaotong University, and Nankai University. His research areas include natural language processing, information retrieval, statistical machine learning, and data mining. He graduated from Kyoto University and earned his PhD from the University of Tokyo. Hang has about 50 publications in international journals and conferences. He is associate editor of ACM Transaction on Asian Language Information Processing and is in editorial board of Journal for Computer and Science Technology, Journal of Chinese Information Processing, etc. His recent academic activities include program committee co-chair of AIRS’08, poster and demo committee co-chair of SIGIR’08, program committee area chair of PAKDD’08 and IJCNLP'08. Hang has been working on development of several products. These include NEC TopicScope, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Microsoft Office 2007.

演讲摘要：

In this talk I will first give an overview on web search (or web IR). I will introduce the major tasks of web search: relevance ranking, importance ranking, web page understanding, query understanding, crawling, indexing, anti-spam, search result presentation and search log data mining. I will then indicate that statistical learning technologies can be employed to perform the tasks, including classification, clustering, learning to rank, link analysis, and information extraction.
