一、教学目标： 

1. 语言知识目标：

1)  学习掌握下列词汇： background, interview, Asian, deal with, dare, private, guard, require

2） 阅读短文，能按要求获取相关的信息。

3） 通过阅读训练来提高学生们的阅读能力。

4)  学习运用used to来表达“过去常常”存在的状态或的发生的动作。

2. 情感态度价值观目标：

让学生明白事物是在不断发展、变化的道理，培养学生积极向上的心态。

二、教学重难点

1. 教学重点：

    1) 掌握本部分出现的生词和词组，达到熟练运用的目标。

2) 阅读短文，获得相关的信息。通过阅读练习，来提高阅读能力。

2. 教学难点：

1)  阅读短文，获得相关的信息的能力。

2)  理解并运用所学的词汇及表达方式。

三．教学步骤

Ⅰ. Lead- in and revision 

1. Listen to a song”where has the time gone?” 

2. Tell the differences between the two pictures using “used to” and ”but now”.

Ⅱ. Pre- reading

1. Show a picture of Candy Wang，and guess the answers to the question. 

What’s she like? Is she outgoing or shy?

2. Look at the photo and the title to the story. Ask ”What information can you get?”

Ⅲ. While-reading 

  1. Read the passage quickly and get the main idea of each paragraph.

  2. Check answers.

Ⅳ. Careful Reading 

 1. Read the first paragraph and discuss :

What’s Candy’s background?

Then share answers.

2. Read the second paragraph and fill in the chart. 

3. Read the third paragraph carefully and fill in the blanks.

Candy’s advice to young people who want to become famous:
