Last Monday, we were having our Chinese class when the teacher suddenly slipped and fell. One of the boys carried her to the clinic immediately. It turned out that her right leg was broken and she had to stay in hospital.
The following day, we went to visit her and when we saw her lying in bed with leg wrapped in bandage, we felt sorry for her and wished her to recover soon. Unexpectedly, this Thursday she returned to the class in a wheelchair, which moved us deeply
The following day, we went to visit her and when we saw her lying in bed with leg wrapped in bandage, we felt sorry for her and wished her to recover soon. Unexpectedly, this Thursday she returned to the class in a wheelchair, which moved us deeply
Then, on a warm sunny day, walking in a park near my home, I saw a number of seniors dancing folk dances gracefully with beautiful music. I loved dancing when I was a kid, so I moved my body with the light and happy rhythm. Soon, I felt happy again. Months later, I fully recovered from my illness, and went back to school.
(范文2) One day, on my way to school by bus, I stepped on a young man’s foot accidentally /quite by accident /chance, and immediately, I said sorry to him politely, but he called my names rudely, which made me in a bad mood the rest of the day.
Realizing my bad mood, my head teacher talked with me patiently about it. He said that in fact it is an attitude toward life and that just as a famous saying goes, “Everything depends on one’s attitude”. Life is like a mirror, if you smile at it, it will smile back to you.
Through this matter, I realize that a good mood is actually an attitude toward life in essence, and that an active attitude toward everything is very important, and from now on, I’ll face everything unpleasant tolerantly and let my soul full of sunshine.

Last Wednesday afternoon, an activity on the theme of “how to become a popular student” was held for the students of Senior Three in the school library. After analyzing some examples, the students had a discussion in groups and some teachers were invited to give their comments.
Finally, we came to a conclusion that a student should be well-behaved and study hard to become popular. What’s more, popular students are supposed to be considerate and polite and get along well with others as well. As a result, we have learned more about ourselves and everyone is determined to be a popular student.

December 1st,Saturday,2007 Fine
[总述]Today is the World Aids Day, so our school organized an activity called “Take care of our lives, and join hand in hand with Aids children”.
[过程] At 8:30 am, we volunteers gathered at the school gate and started our bike trip, which took us about one hour and a half. Soon after we got to the Red Cross Hospital, where most Aids children are staying, we began to have close chats with them to see how their life is going, and then we danced happily together. Having got to know them so well, we presented our gifts, took lots of photos and ate lunch together before we came back.
[感受]I feel very relieved to see the Aids children so happy when they are taken good care of and not ignored.

How time flies! You have been studying in Beijing for nearly a month, during which you must have achieved a lot. Well, how’s everything going and have you adapted to the life there?
I am glad to tell you that I will go to Beijing to take part in an English speech contest in July, which is not only an honor, but also a great opportunity for me to improve myself. And now I try my best to make preparations for it but I have some trouble in collecting the materials relevant and using of the language. I will appreciate it if you give me a hand to solve the problems.
After the contest, I am to drop in at your school to visit you so please wait for my phone.

Mrs. Wilson,
I’m going out shopping, and won’t be back until about 5:00 pm. I have taken with me the two books you asked me to return to the City Library. At about 1:00 this afternoon, Tracy called, saying that she couldn’t meet you at Bolton Coffee tomorrow morning as she has something important to attend to.
She felt very sorry about that, but said that you could set some other time for the meeting. She has already told Susan about this change and wanted you to call her back as soon as you are home.

Dear editor,
I am Li Hua, a student from Xin Hua Middle School. I often visit your website and I am very glad to know that you will make a new round of courses and are collecting topics the middle school students are facing. As a student, I really want to recommend a topic to you wholeheartedly, that is, we should be thankful.
Living in this grateful world, we have many people that we should be thankful to. We should be thankful to our parents because it was they that brought us into this world; we should be thankful to our teachers because they taught us everything we know and we should be thankful to our friends because when we meet difficulties, they always give us a hand.
I hope that the activity will be a great success.
课外作业 稿件:就开展课外活动的建议
Nowadays, after-class activities are becoming more and more popular in high schools.
In our school, there are various kinds of activities, among which playing football and reading stories are my favorites which do me lots of good. Besides, building up my body and enriching my knowledge, they also free me from the heavy work of study.
Here I have some suggestions. As students, we’d better choose the activities which interest ourselves. As for schools, they should organize more activities for us and leave us more time for activities by giving them less homework.
Dear friends, please actively take part in after-class activities, which will not only make your school life colorful, but also improve your learning.

Dear Headmaster,
I am Li Yue, a student from Class 1, Senior II. I am writing to draw your attention to some improper behaviour among us students: littering and scribbling, which makes our school dirty and unpleasant, and even does harm to the image of our school. I always feel ashamed whenever I see this.
I wonder if the school could place more dustbins around and make specific rules against such behaviour. At the same time, students should be encouraged to develop good habits and behave themselves better. I believe that, with the joint efforts of both teachers and students, our school will become a more enjoyable place in the near future.
Thank you for your consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Li Yue

礼貌用语的神奇力量
Magic Power of Polite Words
More and more people attach great importance to relationship in study and career success.
[提出论点]Being polite is the first and most important step to develop good relationship between people and polite words can be easy yet very powerful in your daily life.
[为什么] For example, always saying “please” and “thank you” will make people feel more comfortable and more willing to offer help when necessary. Always be grateful to others for their kindness and express your gratitude through the words you speak
[怎么样] Although some people may easily ignore the importance of being polite, we students should form good habits and behavior. Not only should we learn to be friendly to others but we should also listen attentively.
Remember, being polite costs nothing but it’s worth millions of dollars
课外作业 (微笑的重要作用)
No body language can be more fascinating than smiling because not only can a beautiful smile make ourselves happy, but also it enables others to feel delighted. There are times when a smile is so powerful that it gives people suffering from disasters tremendous courage.
A little boy named Lang Zheng, for instance, impressed and encouraged a great many people when a serious earthquake hit Wenchuan, Sichuan Province. Right after he was rescued by the soldiers from the ruins, he saluted and gave them a smile, which was like sunshine warming people in sadness.
It is safe to say that without smile our life would be colorless.
好心情的重要性
Turning a Bad Mood into a Good One
It is very important for us to have a good mood in our daily life.
If you have a good mood, you will be happy with everything in the world, and most importantly, you will have an optimistic effect on the people around you. We will all live a harmonious and happy life.
However, sometimes when you meet some difficulties, when you quarrel with others or when you fail in doing something, you may have a bad mood.
If so, you should think more about its bright side because everything has two sides. We are sure that everything will be better with time passing by.
Remember: Only you can make yourself happy. I hope that everyone has a good mood every day!

青少年的体质明显下降
The health of Chinese youngsters — a big concern
A latest survey shows that the health of Chinese youngsters has greatly declined. Many Chinese students are facing a number of physical problems, such as obesity, and short-sightedness, etc.
Under the current educational system, marks seem to mean everything to students so students have to spend most of their time doing endless homework in order to pass the college entrance examinations. As a result, they do not sleep or exercise enough.
To improve students’ health, we should reform the current educational system. Besides, we call for less homework, thus leaving students more time to sleep and take exercise.

Dear Editor,
Recently, my classmates and I made a survey about the migrant schools in our city. Problems do exist.
Owing to lack of money, most migrant schools have no modern equipment, no playground, no libraries, and even not enough teachers. However, we find that the migrant kids are just as keen on study as us.
In order to improve the situation, our government should take measures to help them. As for us, the local students can help to collect money or donate books to them. We do hope that the whole society can show more concern for migrant kids.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
青少年不吃早餐的习惯
Top Meal of the Day
A recent study shows that 50% of the school kids in Guangzhou do not have breakfast. Some students who stay up late studying choose to skip breakfast so that they can have a few extra minutes in bed. Besides, some schoolgirls want to stay slim and often go to school without breakfast.
As a result, these students tend to feel sleepy all day and have bad memories, so it is hard for them to get high marks in all kinds of tests.
In fact, the morning meal plays an important part because it can provide 30 percent of the whole day’s energy. For a creative mind and better judgment, school kids should start their day with a regular breakfast
7.正反观点(课堂练习)
父母有没有必要陪读
Recently we have had a discussion about whether parents should accompany their children in their study. Nearly 70% of us disagree because they think it makes us fall into the habit of dependence, so that we won’t form the good habit of studying.
What’s more, it affects our parents’ work and rest. While about 30% of my classmates think it necessary for our parents to accompany us. Then we have more time for study; besides; our parents can help us set up our aim and urge us to finish our task.
课外作业 学生该不该交网友
Should students make friends on line? Some people say yes, who think that the internet helps make friends on line so that students can express their feelings and opinions more freely and it’s helpful to their foreign language studies.
Others, however, don’t think so. They say making friends on line is a waste of time, which should be spent on study; besides, they may get cheated online. My opinion is that students should place their study, health and safety before other things.
该不该给乞丐钱
We have had a class meeting today on whether we should give money to beggars and we have different opinions
Some believe that we should give money to those who are really in need. Among these beggars are the elderly, drop-outs and the disabled, who can hardly make a living due to old age, poverty or disability. Many more students, however, think we shouldn’t give them money because most beggars are begging for easy money. Besides, to give money would encourage them to be lazy even if they have the ability to work.
In general, we should help the people of the disadvantaged groups, but we should remain sensible when giving them money.
8.调查报告(课堂练习)
有烦恼向谁倾诉
Dear editor,
I’m a student in Senior Three. We have made a survey —“Who do you turn to when in trouble?” Here are the results.
According to our survey, about half of the students will go to their classmates or friends when in trouble. As they’re of the same age, they have a lot in common and understand each other easily.
A quarter of students will tell their teachers or parents about their troubles and ask them for help, holding that teachers and parents are trustworthy and have rich experience. Those who prefer to seek help from society account for about one fifth, and they believe that society is more expert at handling their problems. Only ten percent of the students prefer to solve their problems all by themselves as they are reluctant to communicate with others.
课外作业 如何使用零花钱
Recently, the Department of Education has carried out a survey on how middle school students spend their pocket money.
32% of the students would like to save it in the bank to cultivate a good habit of saving money. Four in ten students feel like buying some books on science or arts, which brings them more knowledge.
While 18% of them are so warm-hearted that they are to offer their pocket money to the children in remote mountain areas. Only 10% of them intend to spend it on their hobbies, like stamp collecting, music, sports and so on. Different persons may have different choices on how to spend pocket money, but we should never spend it eating junk food or playing games.
人生目标多元化
A recent survey shows that in today’s society, Chinese young people’s life goals have become more diverse than before. When young people are asked what they will struggle for, more than half of the respondents choose to earn enough money to buy a house and a car for themselves.
About 44% describe their life goal as improving their life quality or to be a rich person while 23.9% of the respondents are simply satisfied to have a good job. As for how to achieve their life goals, more than 70% prefer to realize their dreams by working hard. The survey shows that people’s life goals have become more practical

Nevertheless, he taught himself various kinds of knowledge, which enabled him to attain some other jobs before he turned writer in 1833. His writing career was so successful that he became the most popular writer in Britain when his comic book Pickwick Papers came out in 1837. Charles Dickens later became concerned about the social welfare and died in 1870 at the age of 58.
