Good morning ,everyone.I am Li Xia .I am an English teacher from ....school.Today I want to talk about my teaching ideas about the little match girl. My presentation consists of five parts.

Part 1 The analysis of the teaching material

Teaching Material analysis

This lesson is from unit 3 topic 3 in Grade eight.It’s a reading passage.This topic is about the past continous tense.Since it is a reading lesson ,it’s helpful to improve the students’reading ability and it’s also can help them understand the continous tense better.

Analysis of students

They have learnt the past continous in Section A and Section B.so they can understand the meaning of the past continous better.The Little match girl is a fairy tale and they are familiar with it.It is easy to arouse the Students’ interests.And they will be confident .But they can’t use reading skills properly. .

In this lesson ,we should achieve the following aims:

Knowledge aims:Ss can learn the new words and new phrase and master the usage of the past continous tense.

Skill aims:students should learn how to skim for the main idea of the article and scan for the specific information.Besides,it’s important to train the students’writing ability.

Emotional aims:to develop the spirit of cooperation through teamwork and pair-discussion . enable the Students to be sympathetic with others . The key points

1.review the usage of the past continous tense

2.Know the differences between the past tense and the past continous tense

It is difficult y for students to Use the two tenses correctly

Part two ,I will talk about teaching methods and studying methods

In this lesson, My teaching methods include

audio-visual teaching method and task-based teaching methods and encouragement teaching method Through group work,the students will learn by themselves.They are willing to take part in class activities .They can learn in a happy way and they can communicate with other students. Part three:teaching procedures

Step one: warm up and lead in Show the covers of the four fairy stories in 1a on the screen together. Give a question “Can you guess the stories according to the pictures?”then I will say :Long long ago ,there was a poor little girl selling matches in the street.Do you know the story ? In this way ,students will be interested in this passage and they will be confident to learn it.It will take about 3minutes.

Step two : show two questions on PPT and then watch the flash

They can get the main idea of the passage .It can make the Ss reach abetter understanding of the text by making the classes lively and interesting. At the same time, it arouses the Ss’ interest in learning English.

Step three:Listen to the tape,at the same time,the students circle and underline the key words and sentences,then the teacher deals with some key language points.After this step ,students will reach a better understanding about the past continous tense .Besides ,students can master the phrases quickly .It will cost about five minutes.

Step four:read 1A quickly ,and study with your teammate ,try to finish 1b.And invite different groups to share the answers with the whole class. Encourage students to use reading skills to get the detailed information. Develop their reading skills and make them feel the joy of learning English .This step needs about five minutes.

Step five:show five pictures about the story,ask students to write the key word and then rewrite the story.Invite some students to read their stories.Students will understand that key words can help them know the whole story better and quickly.And students will find that writing is not so difficulty.This step needs about eight minutes.

Step six:,I will show the pictures on the PPT.Finish 2 and check answers in groups.In this step ,the students will understand in which situation we use the past tense and the past continous tense.It will take about six minutes.Step seven:summary

Invite one or two students to say what we have learned in this class.Through this step,students will know better about the key points .It just needs about 3 minutes.

Step eight:homework

Ask students to finish the text book.It is necessary for the students to do some extensive exercises after class to consolidate the knowledge they learned.

Part four :Blackboard design

As you can see on the PPT,I will write down the key words and sentences on the blackboard.

Part five:prediction of the class

In this class ,I will try to create a relaxing and equal atmosphere. I will provide enough time for students ,make sure everyone can learn something .Besides ,I will focus on how to develop their reading skills .I hope they can achieve the teaching aims in a happy way.
