Today I want to introduce a campus film to you. Maybe only a few of you have heard of it since it was only released in a few colleges. It was adapted from a novel of the same name wrote by Jiangnan and made entirely by students of Peking University in 2010. The story happened in Bianjing University under the background of Song Dynasty. But except the historical background, everything is modern. Bianjing University represents [ˌreprɪˈzents]Beijing University according to the original novel. All of the characters' name come from Jin Yong's swordsman fictions. It tells a story about 4 college freshmen: Guo Jin, Linghu Chong, Yang Kang, Duan Y u, three campus love stories and the old times they missed during college lives.

The tittle is THERE THEY WERE, in Chinese it is Cijian De Shaonian.

Collge is different, however, there is plenty of similarities in college life. Maybe you are Guo Jing who is a honest country boy or Huang Rong who is a a quaint [kweint]girl and grew up in a wealthy family. They met each other by bicycle accident and suit each other. Only they reached their happy ending among the three couples in the movie. They represented that there are always some one who met the right person in the right place and at right time. Yang Kang didn't understand his truefeeling until Mu Nianci move on to another guy. As episodes provide [prə'vaɪd] flashbacks before Mu Nianci's entirely giving up, we finally realize that Yang Kang has missed so many chances. This is represents our little secret love in our innocent years.Qiao Feng, the president of student union, always appeared as a man who has gone through all in Bianjing University, like giving advises and help to the freshmen. He is also a man who had has so many sentimental feelings and two love stories. Both of them are bound [baʊnd] to be inconclusive. No matter the heroine['herəʊɪn] is his senior Kang Ming or his junior Duan Zhu, love can hardly survive from graduation especially in different time. Maybe we are more like Linhu Chong, the leading character of this movie, who is an outsider of romance but a common students in our daily life, He was always thinking about to do something great, but finally find its not easy to do everything. No matter to hold a ball on campus as a monitor or serve the motherland as he is longing to do. He is mixed with many traits: a little warmhearted, a little comedy ['kɒmɪdɪ], a little lazy, a little talkative, a little silly, sometime a little artistic.

In the end, when leaving the campus, Qiao Feng said, Two years later, your guys will turn out to someone just like who I am today. Yeah,The campus will meet new characters year after year. There they are, and will last for a longtime. However , the word "are " will finally turn to an forever "were" and never go back. Until the end of the good times,until you say farewell, you may find that you have already fall in love with this campus and those guys around you and it is too hard to meet again in the vast sea of faces.

Since the budget was only 100,000 yuan and was all made by students, the film is not so perfect as other famous ones. Many peope think it is more like a literary campus DV drama, the actors and actresses are not so beautiful or handsome. But this is what I love best of this film. Reality. Because they are representatives of us, they are just like the guys who live with us in college. Wake up in the call from roommate and have meal together in canteen , sleep during the class, cram[kræm] all night for exams, gossip and laugh at each other or think about do something different, just like we are the ones who were there. This film may recall your memory of college life from the very beginning to the moment you say farewell to it and cherish school live more today.
