本单元设计分为4个课时:
第一课时 Lead-in + Listening and speaking
第二课时 Phonetics review (Vowels: Chant 1 and Chant 2)
第三课时 Phonetics review (Vowels: Chant 3 and Chant 4)
第四课时 Phonetics review (Consonants) + Unit task
第一课时 Lead-in + Listening & Speaking
1.教学内容
本课时包括Lead-in & Listening and speaking两部分,具体内容为:用适当的方式描述天气。
2.教学重点、难点
教学重点:了解并辨别在对不同天气的描述;
教学难点:掌握用适当的方式来描述天气。
3.教学目标
知识目标:学生能够掌握如何用英语描述天气;
能力目标:听---能够听懂天气预报,对各种不同天气的描述;
说---能够用适当的方式描述天气;
文化意识:掌握中国人与英美国家的人们表达天气的不同习惯。
4.教学步骤
Step I Lead—in
Activity 1
1. Go through the words related to weather, A---I, and then ask the Ss to read aloud.
2. Think and choose. (Ss’ individual work)
3. The teacher does orally check and feedback.
4. Go through the words again, and get the Ss to memorize them and do oral Chinese-English match work.
(设计意图:先让学生熟悉各个表天气的单词,然后完成,教师再作反馈,这个过程可以帮助学生快速复习词汇。)
Activity 2
1. Look at the 5 pictures, then choose the proper word for each picture from activity 1.
2. The teacher does the check work., individually or from the whole class.
3. Ask the Ss to think of more weather marks and then learn related words to those marks.

1. Think and fill.(Ss’ individual work)
2. The teacher does orally check and feedback.
Step II Listening and speaking
Listening
Activity 4
1. Look and think. Ss do a quick prediction on the choices.
(设计意图:训练学生对信息的预测能力。)
2. Listen and tick the correct picture, then the teacher just has a brief check.
Activity 5
1. listen and circle the words.
2. The teacher does the check work.
*3. Pair work. Ss do the oral work in pairs---describing the weather at the moment.
Activity 6
1. Listen and follow.
2. The whole class read the drills aloud.
3. Listen and tick. Ss tick the drills on talking about the weather.
4. Go through the above drills, and explain the different ways of talking about weather.
(设计意图:让学生熟悉描述天气的表达方式,也为完成单元任务作语言上的铺垫。)
Activity 7
1. Look and think. Then do a quick prediction on the pictures.
2. Listen and reorder, and then the teacher does a quick check.
Speaking
Activity 8
1. Listen and follow.
2. Listen and underline the sentences on weather, then get the feedback.
3. Pair work. Ss practise reading the dialogue and the teacher may explain the vocabulary and drills when necessary.
Activity 9
1. Listen and watch. The teacher and one student demonstrate a dialogue about weather in a certain city.
2. Pair work. Ss start their dialogues about weathe in other different cities.
3. The teacher may choose several pairs to perform in class and give a feedback.
(设计意图:让学生通过模仿进一步熟练掌握表述天气的语句。)
Step III Consolidation practice
Ask the Ss to read and memorize the Everyday English drills after the class..
