Unit 9 Have you ever been to Singapore?

I.教材分析：

本节课是本单元的最后一课时，它是一节阅读课。本课的文章以介绍新加坡的旅游为话题，重点介绍了新加坡适宜中国人去旅游的方面。在语法要点上，本课继续以谈论过去的经历为主，引导学生运用现在完成时进行表达。

II.学情分析：

由于本课的内容是去国外旅游的话题，对于热爱大自然、充满好奇心的学生来说，他们会很感兴趣的。同时，本课所渗透的语法要点，学生已在本单元的前几课时中接触学习了很多，所以，对于理解本课文章中的现在进行时的语句，学生不会存在问题。在课堂上，只要学生在老师的指导下，运用恰当文本解读策略进行阅读，学生就一定能很好地完成对文章的理解。

III.教学目标：

1. 知识目标:

词汇：

southeast,wonderful,holiday,quarter,three quarters,population,simply,Putonghua,fear,

brave,excellent,Indian,Night Safari,dark,daytime,wake, fox,natural,environment, equator,whenever,spring,autumn,season,type,awake.

短语句型：

a wonderful place to take a holiday,on the one hand,on the other hand,three quarters of the population,an English-speaking country,a good place to practise your English,an excellent place to try new food,whether…..or….have been to…,a night zoo,called the “Night Safari”.It might seem strange to go to a zoo when it’s dark.the best time to do sth.be asleep, all the year round, wake up,be close to,choose to do sth.of course,be far from.

学生能够运用正确的阅读策略理解文章。

3.情感目标：

培养学生热爱大自然、探索到自然的精神。

VI.教学过程：

Step1.Before reading :

Ask the students to discuss:

Do you like traveling?

Where do you want to visit?

Why do you want to go there?

What do you know about the place?

Then make a report.

Step2.While reading:

1)Get the students to read the passage quickly to find the answer:

Which country is it about?

Where is it?

Is it a good place to take holiday?

Why is it good for Chinese tourists to travel there?

What kind of food can you eat in Singapore?

How about the zoo in Singapore?

When can you go to the Night Safari? Why?

When is the best time to travel in Singapore?Why?

2)Go through the passage with the students,practise and learn:

a wonderful place to take a holiday,

on the one hand,

on the other hand,

three quarters of the population,

an English-speaking country,

a good place to practise your English,

an excellent place to try new food

whether…..or….

have been to…,

a night zoo called the “Night Safari”.

Step3.After reading:

1)Get the students to correct the statements in 3c.

2) Get the students to retell the passage with the help of the questions in Step 2.
