I used chopsticks and a spoon instead of a fork and a knife. 我使用筷子和勺子代替叉子和刀。 Instead of 的意思是“代替……”、“而不……”,: 1) 作为短语介词,instead of 后面常跟名词、代词和动名词,偶尔也跟复合结构。 e.g. I have come instead of my brother. He is ill._____________________________. I will go instead of you.______________________. Instead of lending a hand, he laughed at us. They must make up their own minds instead of our making up their minds for them. 他们必须自己做出决定,而不是有我们来代替他们作决定。 2. My parents love to have lunch and shop there, although parking is a problem. though 1) conj. “虽然,尽管,即使” 引导让步状语从句,不和but连用,但可和yet 或 still连用。2) adv. “可是,不过,然而” 通常放在句末。 e.g. Though his father is ill, (yet/ still) he works hard. Though it rained hard, they went on working. = It rained hard, but they went on working. 【辨析】although与though 两者都有“虽然”之意。although引导的状语从句多位于主句之前;though引导的状语从句可位于主句前,也可位于主句后;although较为正式,而though多用于非正式文体中。 e.g. Though we were tired, we went on working. = We were tired, but we went on working. 3. I have no idea. 我不知道。 I have no idea=_______________. 4. Do you believe it’s Santa Claus who brings you gifts, Brian? __ it’s Santa Claus who brings you gifts _ 是believe 的宾语从句,它的结构是It is / was + 被强调的部分(主语、宾语、状语)+ that/who + 其它成分。eg: 昨天买二手电脑的人我。It was I that/ who bought a second-hand computer yesterday. 5.
