9.M: Hey, you look great! How’s everything?

Q:What does the woman think of the training?
10.W: My computer teacher announced that we would have to complete 2 papers and take 2

Section B
Directions: In Section B, you will hear two short passages, and you will be asked three questions on each of the passages. The passages will be read twice, but the questions will be spoken only once. When you hear a question, read the four possible answers on your paper and decide which one would be the best answer to the question you have heard.
Blank 11-13 are based on the following Passage.
Looking back at my younger years, I am sometimes amazed at how life has turned out. Nothing is exactly what I had originally planned for. The only thing that stays the same is who I am, my values, and my interests. If I could go back in time and hang out with my younger self for a day, here's what I would tell her.
1. Everything happens for a reason.
Without mistakes and failure, you would never have learned. Without pain, you would never have grown. Once you understand this, you will know that everything comes in to serve a purpose.
2. Focus on one thing at a time.
It is not surprising that many of us are doing too many things at once. We need to make ends meet. But if you are working three jobs at a time, it is not likely that you will succeed at any of them. You have to keep your eyes on the big picture.
3. It's okay to be unsure about your purpose in life.
You might be graduating or have hit a turning point with your career. You might feel a bit lost and unsure of where to go. It's okay. Go out there and try as many different things as you can. Don't ever feel like you're wasting your time. Enjoy the journey. Don't rush. Every little path will lead you somewhere. And looking back, you will be able to connect the dots. It will all make sense.
4. Take faith in yourself.
You've got nothing to lose but everything to gain. If you fail, you'll become smarter; If you succeed, you'll gain even more self-confidence and the emotional and financial rewards. See life as a progressive journey. (Now, listen again.)
11. How does the author feel about his present life in comparison with his original plan ?
12. Which of the following is not mentioned in the passage?
13. What is suggested if you are at a loss about the life purpose?
Blank 14-16 are based on the following speech.
Smoking in your own home in Thailand may now be considered a crime, if the smoke is considered harmful to other people in the house.
The new law, Family Protection and Development Promotion Act, was initiated by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and was announced in the Royal Gazette on May 22, 2019.
The law aims at controlling smoking at home which might be dangerous for others' health living under the same roof. In that case, it will be considered as 'domestic violence'. The new law came into force on August 20.
Scientific studies show that passive smokers are at greater risk of being affected by cancer. According to the center for research, of 75 child patients from houses where smoking is practiced, 76% of them were found to have nicotine traces in their body, with 43% of them having nicotine content exceeding permissible levels.
Smoking at home also “may lead to physical or emotional violence” because of aggressiveness when there is a lack of smoking, and might as well ruin relationships between smokers and non-smoker family members.
According to the new law, anyone who thinks they are affected by domestic smoking can report to officials concerned so that officials will be sent to investigate and take legal action against the smokers.
In February this year, Thailand had banned smoking at six of its airports along with a ban in public places.
(Now, listen again.)
Questions:
14. Of 100 child patients whose family members smoke, how many may have nicotine traces in their body?
15. Which one of the followings is not author's reason to support the ban on smoking?
16. What is this passage mainly about?

W: Good evening and welcome to this week’s Business World. It programs for and about business people. Tonight we have Mr. Angeleno who came to the US six years ago, and is now an established businessman with three restaurants in town. Tell us, Mr. Angeleno, how did you get started?
M: Well, I started off with a small diner. I did all the cooking myself and my wife waited on tables. It was really too much work for two people. My cooking is great. And word got around town about the food. Within a year, I had to hire another cook and four waitresses. When that restaurant became very busy, I decided to expand my business. Now with three places my main concern is keeping the business successful and running smoothly.
W: Do you advertise?
M: Oh yes. I don’t have any TV commercials, because they are too expensive. But I advertise a lot on radio and in local newspapers. My children used to distribute ads in nearby shopping centers, but we don’t need to do that any more.
W: Why do you believe you’ve been so successful?
M: Em, I always serve the freshest possible food and I make the atmosphere as comfortable and pleasant as I can, so that my customers will want to come back.
W: So you always aim to please the customers?
M: Absolutely! Without them I would have no business at all.
W: Thank you, Mr. Angeleno. I think your advice will be helpful to those just starting out in business.
Questions:
17. What is the woman’s occupation?
18. What do we learn about Mr. Angeleno’s business at its beginning?

20. What does the man say contribute to his success?
