 The  aspects of the English characters  

When we refer to the English people, impressed us most is gentle men. Yes ,English people is known as a police men ,they pay more attention to the manners. So in our mind first impression of English people are very gentle. But except it, there are also many other characters need to be noticed,such as reserved,a sense of humor and sportsmanship.

 All of these characters for the English people ,impressed me most are the reserved and a sense of humor

About the reserved, I was very puzzled when I first time had learn it. For the explanation of the reserved person is someone who does not talk very much to strangers, does not show much emotion, and seldom gets excited. I am very surprised for it because in my mind the Europeans are very outgoing and they are passion for people. After learning I knew that the English people is special. But I admire it. I think we needn't to talk so much with a person you only meet them once or twice. Besides, I think two persons who do not have the same interest for the topic they will feel very awkward. So I agree the behavior that English people do. It is clever to choose silence. 

Although they are silent with someone they do know ,they are also noted for their generosity and hospitality. When you can make them feel comfortable ,they will show their generosity and hospitality to you. Because they only behind the barrier of reserve, and the barrier is easy to be broken down when you sincerely talk to them.

This is English people ,reserved but hospitality. Which type of them will appear only depend on you attitude to them.

Second is the sense of humor. English people is not like the humorous as we know. Its starting-point is self-dispraise and its great enemy is conceit. Its object is the ability to laugh at oneself---at one's own faults, one's own failure, even at one's own ideals. About it impressed me most is because a person who owning this character is more optimistic and they can use it to relax themselves and reduce the tress when they are fail to do something. And I believe they will do better than before. So a sense of humor is an attitude to life rather than the mere ability to laugh at jokes. When you laugh at yourself for your faults you will impress others that you are a person who have a good attitude for the life.

On the other hand, they won't laugh at the disabled or a tragedy or honorable failure. Because they have on malicious with them. They only want to themselves can live happier.

This is English people, smile to life.

Above is the thinking of myself for the English characters. I like the characters of them. Different from the characters of Americans, they pay more attention to the spiritual. In all English people is very gentle.
