五下Unit 4 When is the art show?
A Let’s talk
【教学目标】:
1.知识目标:
(1)能询问及回答节日所在月份及日期。
(2)能理解Let’s talk 的大意,能用正确的语音语调朗读对话。
(3)能在语境中运用When is the art show?-----It’s on May 1st.类似句型来交流相关节日月份及日期。
(4)能够在情景中运用句型 There are some other special days in May.表达某月有多少特殊的日子。
2.能力目标:
能在真实语境中交流运用句型。
3.情感目标:
通过了解他人节日及中外节假日,培养学生乐于交往,乐于了解外来文化的习惯.
【教学重点】
能够用正确的语音、语调、意群朗读对话,并能分角色朗读。
【教学难点】
能够在情景中运用类似句型 When is the art show?-----It’s on May 1st.询问并回答节日的日期。
【教具准备】
PPT、单词卡片、日历展板、有关节日的小图标、头饰等。
Step 1 Warm-up/Revision
1.Enjoy the song 《The Twelve Months》.
2.交代小组和孩子们打招呼并交代奖励机制。
3.(出示PPT) T:Today is April25th. It’s a very special day for me. Because I’m your new teacher. I have an English class for you here. I hope we’ll have a happy time! Do you think so?
(在具体语境中出示special,让学生在语境中理解单词 special 的意思。)
2.(出示日历展板) Revise 12 months and some special days in each month .
3.(在展板上贴上自己的生日图标)
T: My birthday is in May. When is your birthday?
Ss: My birthday is in.... (复习in +月份)
Step 2 Presentation
导入:We talked about lots of months.Look! Mr Johns and Zhang Peng are talking about the months, too.
1.Listen and answer:
T: Which month are they talking about? Ss: April.
(设计意图:Let’s try的学习为下面对话的学习做铺垫。)
2.Listen and answer:
(出示PPT)导入:There are some special days in May.What are they?
Ss:May Day ,Youth Day and Mother’s Day.
T:There are some other special days in May.What are they?
(强调单词other)
Ss:The school art show and the reading festival.
(学生回答的时候贴板书the school art show 和 the reading festival并领读.让学生通过图片和视频理解show 和 festival。)
3. Listen again and answer:
T: ①When is the school art show? Ss: ① It’s on May 1st.
②When is the reading festival? Ss: ②It’s on May 5th.
⑴学生回答的时候板书May 1st 和May 5th,教授1st和5th的读法和写法,强调5th的th的发音。可以适时指向日历展板中其它月份的1日和5日的日期让学生读。灵活掌握日期的读法和写法。
⑵ 教师再问一遍上面的两个问题,学生回答后补充板书。(这个时候可以再次指向展板,结合具体月份和日期让学生理解in和on的区别)
4.学习核心句型:When is …? It’s on ...并操练
⑴Follow the teacher.
⑵Girls ask, boys answer. Then change.
⑶Ask and answer in pairs.
4展示3-4组。
Step 3 Practice
1. Listen and repeat.

(老师适时指导some other和school art的连读)

3.Play in roles.
①老师VS全体同学做示范。
②Play in roles with the partner.
③上台展示2-3组。
Step 4 Consolidation
(再次出示日历展板)
选择China’s National Day 图标
1.老师示范:选择一个节日图片
T: The festival is ... Ss: It’s +节日。
T: When is ...? Ss: It’s on...
并根据回答把图片贴到日历展板相应的日期位置。
2.找3名学生当小老师,用同样的方法练习:New Year’s Day
May Day Children’s Day
3.老师出示上一步骤中出现的节日的英语词卡,并贴在黑板上,通过问答练习让学生找出相对应的日期。
4.Let Ss circle more special days。
T: Do you know more special days? Circle like this.
(边说边圈Tree Planting Day)
(让学生进行拓展操练,为下面的写作提供素材。)
Step 5 Promotion
导入:We know there are 12 months in a year.Do you know my favorite month?(问几个学生,让学生猜测。)
T:June, it’s my favourite month. Look! My favorite month.
1.以June为例子,老师做示范,课件展示My favorite month.
2.老师通过几个有关My favorite month的问题和学生进行口头问答,为后续写作做铺垫,降低难度。
T:This is my favourite month. What’s your favourite month?
Ss: October.
T: Why?
Ss: Because there are some special days in October.
T:What are they?
Ss: … and…
T: …is on ….
And … is on …
3.Writing:
导入:Boys and girls, take out this paper .Choose your favourite month and write on it.
My favorite month
________ is my favorite month.
There are some special days in _______.
They are____________ and ____________.
___________ is on __________.
And ___________ is on ___________.
Wow! __________ is fun.
3.情感升华Watch a video about holidays.
Enjoy holidays, enjoy life!
