 some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. others, however,believe that school is the place to learn this.

 discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

  it is always said that parents are the first the best teachers of their children. so a host of people believe that parents should be responsible for children’s education and teach them how to be good members of society. however, others advocate that school is the place to learn this. in my opinion, both of the two views are too extreme and should complement with each other.

  there are two reasons of the advocators for the former opinion. firstly, parents are the first and most intimate people of the children after their birth. the years before children going to school is the most important time to cultivate their habits and the sense of the society. parents play vital roles which can not be replaced by school, in teaching children some basic social rules and how to be good social members during this time. secondly, parents usually have only one or several children, which is much less than that number in a class of school. therefore, it is obvious that parents can pay more attention and more focus on their children compared with teachers in school. conversely, a teacher may be not capable of taking care of and teaching the children to be good social members as well because of the limited energy.

  in contrast, the supporters of the latter opinion have several reasons to support it. on one hand, it is quite common that children spend more time at school with teachers, especially for that families with both two busy parents. this phenomenon indicates that children have more opportunities and time learn more social rules and behaviors which they are expected from teachers or even from other children. on the other hand, the teachers in school are more professional in teaching children with their knowledge of psychology and education. so they can handle problems of children in different ages more scientifically and guide children to be qualified members of society.

 overall, i think that the responsibility of teaching children how to be good members of society belongs to both parents and schools. both of them play irreplaceable roles in children’s education, but should take common but differentiated responsibility. i tend to believe that parents are expected to dominate in this problem, and schools should provide specialized help for them.

  as it is known to us all that, difference in family education between american and chinese varies in a host of aspects. here, i would like to concentrate in the differences in the cultivation of children’s interests in the two education systems. expect for giving a general depiction and digging out the reasons that contribute to the phenomena, personal opinions will also follow behind.

dom regard it as a tool to grab an admission of an outstanding school. therefore, in the united states, children are mostly encouraged and induced to developing their interests and do the things what they are really attracted. american parents seldom prevent their children from being caught in their preference or enforce them to do what they do not like either. meanwhile, in no accordance with the stereotype that formed in the past time, chinese parents also place much significance in cultivating children’s interests. what they have done for cultivation are no less inferior to the americans. nevertheless, interest of kids today in china is considered gradually as something that can steps up to a brighter future. with the interests or the specialties, students gain more opportunities to a better school or university. so it’s not surprising to see some parents in china are under a frenzy of cultivating their children’s interests or, more precisely to say, solidifying the steps to success. a host of reasons result in the emergence of this kind of difference such as the traditional culture, the different education background or even the education policy of the authority. but, from my perspective, both the education methods are

somewhat suitable for the country itself. although it is undeniable that americans’ are focusing more on cultivation rather than utility, we cannot simply blaze our  methods that only to force kids to do something they don’t like or even kill their interest cruelly. only do we absorb the useful as well as suitable aspects of others’ concept can we make a difference.

 this friday evening i went to watch a thriller named 《咒丝---the deadly strands》, it is not that scary but conveys the concept of the importance of family

 relationship in affecting the growing of children. the feeling triggers my thinking about current domestic family education in china. there are quite a few news reported about the tragedy of family education leading to the loss of lives, extreme behaviors in threating public safety. children do need proper care and guide in their growing up stage and sometimes money cannot buy it.

 as the increasing attention on family education arises in recent years, the public starts to care about the  health in children growing up phase. it is the fact that  family relationship do help the good personality build-up for kids and cut down the possibility of mental illness. personally speaking, communication is the key to strengthen the link in family members and solve the problems due to miscommunication or misunderstanding.

 moreover, frequent family reunion dinner or short trip can enhance the bond of family relationship and demonstrate mutual care or concern towards each other, which definitely forms the positive circumstance and good model example. with the efforts, children will obtain proper guidance and be a responsible person to the family, to the society and to the country.

 a harmonious relationship within a household can determine the appropriation of family education. first, parents with high educations dont mean much unless they develop crucial traits such as trust and caring with their children. second, parents as role models shouldnt pull children into their fights, for its just embarrassment that adults cant deal with their problems. third, positive

 factors should also include the cooperation between the teachers and parents.

with the parents out of sight, teachers should be the second role models in life. however, its also beneficial to have mutual friends in childrens social group to ensure their spiritual development.

 parents are the first educators of their kids and this position probably take long time. in my opinion, a better teacher usually plays a role like friends rather than critics and this principle is also applicable to parents. as a daughter myself i would like to share a lot with my mom, the most reliable friend in my life. she always consoles me and gives me encouragement. her words sometimes are like the best  for me to cure every pain, sometimes like the  to urge me going faster. because communication is the key point in homeschooling we are more willing to share with our parents if they look like our peers.
