1. Christmas as the traditional Western festival, is gradually gaining popularity in China. Now it doesn't matter wherever you go, you can spot Christmas card, Santa Claus and reindeer. Many people suggest the government should put restriction on Christmas since it is threatening our traditional culture; it is the "invasion of foreign culture"
2. Personally I disagree with this opinion. If you travel abroad, we can tell how much Chinese culture impacted on western society, our traditional medicine, our martial art and poetry. Without communication and conflict, our culture won't improve. The thing really matters is we should absorb the merits of foreign culture and discard the harmful parts like violence and pornography. I truly have faith on Chinese culture, so I strongly suggest we should treat 3.Christmas with normal attitude, neither indulging nor rejecting.
Christmas Day, which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, is a time of love, hospitality and good will. However, it is becoming more and more secular and commercial. So, in china, when I see a whole street full of Christmas decorations, I fear that it will be a lot easier to import the commercial aspect of Christmas to China than spreading the true spirit.

Lifestyle in America
1. When it comes to lifestyle in America, I mainly want to mention the aspect of family life. The traditional American family is a “nuclear family”. A nuclear family refers to a husband and wife and their children. In America, only in a few cases does more than one household live under one roof. But in china, people live close to their extended family. Several generations may even live together.
2. Americans regard the family as a group whose main purpose is to advance the happiness of individual members. Each individual take priority in the life of the family. But in china, the primary responsibility is to advance the family as a group and to bring honor to the family name.
3. Equality of opportunity regardless of birth is considered a basic American value. American values are welcomed in the home. Parents and children regard each other as good friends. Husbands and wives often share household chores.
4. Social pressures are breaking apart more and more American families. The vast majority of Americans believe that the family is one of the most important parts of life and traditional two-parent family is the best for children. As a result, more and more people are making their family a priority.
