1. My Opinion on Advertisement我对广告的看法

With the growing influence of mass media, advertising invades every aspect of our lives. Whenever we turn on TV, look through newspapers, open the mailbox, or surf on the Internet, advertisements would immediately come into our eyes. Good advertising can accelerate promotion and sell goods well. And advertising can also help consumers to quickly find out goods they need. There are a lot of advertisements that can promote social progress, improve the quality of our lives. 

However, some unscrupulous vendors will also be in pursuit of commercial interests and made some false advertising information and harm the consumer’s interest. For instance, some small advertising not only provide false information, but also seriously affect the appearance of a city.

Therefore, we must polish eyes towards advertising, enhance the ability to distinguish true and false information. Our society should be strengthened through legal supervision to promote the development of excellent advertising.

2. Tourism旅游

    Tourism is developing rapidly in China. As a result of the open policy, an increasing number of foreigners are crowding into China, eager to see this mysterious land with a splendid culture and a civilization of more than 5, 000 years.

    Tourism brings China a lot of good. It enables the Chinese to know about the outside world and contributes to international friendship and natural understanding". More importantly, it is financially beneficial to China, because tourism greatly encourages foreign investment in China.

    However, tourism also gives rise to a number of problems. For example, it, to some degree, has become a burden our insufficient transportation system. It also brings in some harmful ideas from the outside world. Therefore, great attention should be paid to those problems.

3. Electronic Dictionary电子词典

With the fast pace of the development of the modern technology, electronic dictionaries have become an indispensable companion to learning.

　　Nowadays, most of the English learners choose electronic dictionaries instead of traditional dictionaries. They claim that the benefits of using electronic dictionaries are as follows: they’re handy and convenient, and students can use it easily wherever they need.

　　Therefore, most modern social pioneers are in favor of using electronic dictionaries. So you can see more and more students flock into Electrotonic Products Shop to buy an electronic dictionary.

　　However, some people have different points of view about electronic dictionaries. They hold that the defects overweigh the benefits in that using electronic dictionaries makes people become lazy. Contrary to electronic dictionaries, traditional dictionaries have more explanations, patterns, or examples than electronic dictionaries, which exactly give a passive attitude toward learning. And when people use an electronic dictionary to study, they always end up playing games in it.

　　Anyhow, my opinion is that in spite of its defects of learning, all we have to do is merely to put it into perfect use.

4. Mo Yan Won Nobel Prize for Literature莫言获得诺贝尔文学奖

Several months ago, a good news swept on China that Mo Yan won the 2012 Nobel Prize for literature. After this big event, Mo Yan, the first Chinese resident to win the prize, has been the crispy fried chicken among China. Gaomi County in Shandong Province becomes a tourist attraction because of his popularity. For his award, Chinese media overwhelming report this exciting news. People are rushing to the bookstores to buy his famous book and some are even out of stock。

Generally speaking, his award means a lot to China, especially Chinese literature. The Nobel Prize for literature is a dream of Chinese literary field and all Chinese people. However, as a large cultural country that owns countless classic works, China had no winner of the Nobel Prize for literature which had become a great pity. Therefore, this prize finishes a pile wish of Chinese people. In addition, although we have a great number of great works, very few people can read a book carefully and tranquilly in the impetuous society. I think this exciting news will inspire people’s enthusiasm towards literature, which is a great motivation to the development of literature. This is what we are happy to see.

5. City Life Compared with Rural Life

It is really hard to say which is better than the other, city life or rural life. Both have its merit and shortcoming. 

Living in the city has a great many advantages. First, you can enjoy various kinds of foods, both foreign and domestic. Second, there are more cultural activities in the city. You can go to the concert, the theatre, the movies or the disco club after a day’s hard work. But city life has many problems either. The overcrowded population, traffic jam, industrial pollution, and the lack of understanding between people may result in disease and unhappiness.

    Living in the country, however, you can again watch the magnificent sunrise and sunset and listen to the bird singing in the tree. If you want, you can certainly have a large garden when a small green space seems a luxury in the city! In the city you may feel at a loss as to who you are working for. You probably doubt you cannot be working for yourself since you are so unhappy and nervous. But in the countryside you need not worry so. You plant seeds in the earth, and you watch them grow into flowers and finally into fruits or food. Once again, you enjoy the pleasure of work. But rural life may not be that perfect. Things are going so slowly that sometimes you may feel that you are absolutely left behind in some remote corners of the world. You may again miss the parties, friends and movies in the city.

    People are like this. They can never feel perfectly satisfied. The best solution may be that you enjoy pleasures of both lives and get rid of their inconveniences.
