在英语中当动词加上后缀ed构成过去分词或过去式时，它的发音可以有三种。
第一种：见到以爆破辅音d, t结尾的动词，加ed之后，发出 [ed] 的声音， 例如： arrest - arrested, load - loaded
第二种： 见到s,p,k, f, sh结尾的动词，加ed之后，发出 [t] 的声音， 例如：mess - messed, sip - sipped, pick - picked, staff - staffed, fish - fished
