An essential quality for young people is honesty.As is known to us all,honesty is one of the Chinese traditional virtues,especially for the young people in contemporary society.Our young people are the new masters of the future world.If one always tells lies and deceives others for money、food or something expensive,people will gradually refuse to believe others and become self-centered.Over time,our society will become more and more indifferent.If this happened,it would apparently be harmful for our development.

An essential quality for young people is responsibility.It is often reported that when one has done something wrong,he or she always passes the buck to others and tries every method to avoid being to blame.In my opinion,it is the typical problem of lacking responsibility.If we have done something,it is wise for us to take the responsibility bravely rather than keep away from it.If so,we can learn a lot from failure and avoid making the same mistake next time.

An essential quality for young people is diligence.As the old saying goes ‘The early bird gets the worm.’ Young people is like the sun in the morning and we have enough time to do something meaningful and special.All of these have a common premise——diligence.

In conclusion,essential qualities for young people do not have only one aspect.Taking everything into consideration,honesty,responsibility and diligence are all important for young people to develop themselves and portray their social status.
