Teaching Aims:

 Learn to write English compositions well

Teaching Aids:

Teaching Procedures:

Step 1: Leading-in

Greet the students.

Step 2: Controlled writing

1. Key words

(1) Individual work: Look at the pictures and write down words about them.

(2) Pair work: Share words about the pictures and write down more.

(3) Group work: Find out the key words about the pictures in groups.

(4) Class work: Report the key words.

2. Sentences

(1) Individual work: Write down outlines about the pictures using the key words. 

(2) Pair work: Improve the outlines in pairs and write down better ones if necessary.

(3) Class work: Report the outlines about the pictures.

Step 3: Semi-controlled writing

1. Individual work: Imagine the ending of the story individually and write it down.

2. Group work: Share the imaginative ending in four.

3. Class work: Make a report about the ending.

Step4: Paragraphing

1. Individual work: Write a composition individually.

2. Group work: Share the composition and try to make improvements about it in groups of four.

3. Class work: Report some compositions.

Homework:
