Good morning everybody，It's my great honor to be here , i hope my English speech will be desirable  to everyone and you will love it , today , my topic  is natural disasters.

In the past hundreds of years, there have been frequent natural disasters, such as floods, droughts, earthquakes, windstorms and the stretching of new deserts. The disasters have killed millions upon millions of people, destroyed countless homes, and wiped out numerous pieces of fertile（ˈfə:tail） land.

A natural disaster is the effect of a natural hazard that affects the environment, and leads to financial, environmental and/or human losses.

It  includes:

Land movement disasters，Water disasters，Weather disaster，Health and diseases;

Now，let us talk about several natural disasters.

The Origin of Earthquake ，to sum up ，is the sudden movement of the ground 

The effects of earthquakes include, but are not limited to, the following:

Human impacts: Earthquakes may lead to disease, lack of basic necessities, loss of life, higher insurance premiums, general property damage, road and bridge damage, and collapse or destabilization of buildings. Earthquakes can also precede volcanic eruptions, which cause further problems.

Second，tsunamis。

Third，droughts。A drought is an extended period of months or years when a region notes a deficiency in its water supply. Generally, this occurs when a region receives consistently below average precipitation.

Periods of drought can have significant environmental,agricultural,health, economic and social consequences

To sum up，Nowadays, environmental protection is paid more and more attention to by many people. Varies of measures are taken to protect the environment to avoid destruction of human activities. However, we must realize that environment is not so passive as most of us think, and sometimes it repays human being in unfriendly ways. So, we should be alert and take effective actions to protect ourselves in case of unexpected attack of nature.
