Elephants are the biggest animals on land. Some elephants are very heavy and others are very tall. When an elephant is 12 years old, it is more than 3 meters tall and stops growing/doesn’t grow any more. An elephant is usually grey. It has a long trunk and two big tusks. It is very gentle. People often use it to carry heavy things and help them do many useful things. 

Elephants are our friends, so it is important for us to protect them.

2.介绍人物

Thomas Edison, one of the most famous inventors in the world, was born in 1847 in America.

From an early age, he liked to ask questions and his questions were often strange. His teachers thought he was stupid. His mother, a primary school teacher, decided to teach him by herself. From then on, Edison fell in love with reading and he showed great intelligence in science.

Edison had more than 2,000 inventions. He always said, “Life is too short so we should save time to do more useful things.”

3.电脑

21世纪是一个信息时代，电脑被广泛应用于各个领域。人们使用电脑经商、玩游戏等。举例来说，使用电脑完成一封信仅需要几分钟。你能用麦（microphone）与朋友交谈，用视频设备（video camera）看见对方。总之电脑缩短了世界上每个人的距离，扮演者越来越重要的角色。

The 21st century is an information age. Nowadays, computers are being widely   used in almost every field. People use computers to do different things, such as doing business and playing games. For example, you can use computers to finish a letter    only  in several minutes. In addition, you can talk to your friends with a microphone and see them through a video camera.  

In all, computers have shortened the distance between one another, and they are playing a more and more important role in our daily lives.

Nowadays, smart phones are becoming more and more popular. People love them for the following reasons:

   Firstly, we can use them to speak to each other, listen to music, watch videos, play games and so on. In addition, although they are smaller than computers, we can still surf the internet with them. Besides, they are now much cheaper than before, so many people can afford (支付得起）them. Finally, mobile phones make our life more and more convenient. 

   Mobile phones are so important to us that we cannot imagine living without them.
