    A large population causes many difficulties, not only for every family, but also for the whole nation. It has become a serious problem. Some 6.7 billion people live on planet Earth today and close to 3 billion more may be in the mix by 2050. It’s easy to assume surging human population is the real root of the world’s evils, from global warming to poverty, starvation to habitat loss. Overpopulation is a serious problem in many less developed countries because it can bring about lots of trouble for people. China has the largest population with 1.3 billion. It’s about one fifth of the world’s population. Reduce population is necessary for countries development, education, environmental pollution, and human life. 

    When discussing about the population of a country, the first thing that comes to our mind is the development of the country.  Too much population will bring down the speed of the countries development and also brings more trouble for normal social life. China is a big country and has a very high population. As a result there are many financial and social security problems that appear with the high population. Once the population is over the normal level, the country will support more citizens for their life. To support more citizens, governments have to give more money to the citizens, so there is a question comes out: where are the governments going to get so much money? For the governments to get more money, they will charge more taxes from citizens. If the taxes are higher than before, it is also a pressure for citizens. People have to work harder and save money as much as they can. Meanwhile, the government cannot get enough revenue from citizens, so the social benefits will not be enough for every citizen. This is like a vicious cycle. The citizen will never live a better life, and the country will never develop very well.

    I looked into some research, and they said that in many less developed areas, some parents prefer boys to girls. As a result, many girls can’t go to school. The higher population negatively affects people’s normal life. The implications of this explosive growth for both the physical environment and human well-being alarmed many observers and prompted an intense public policy debate. Many scholars and policymakers noted that high levels of educational achievement were associated with more moderate rates of population growth, suggesting that important opportunities for alleviating population pressures might be found in ensuring greater access to education, particularly for females. The ensuing public policy debate has prompted an examination of how the birth rate affects the education.

    The high population is going to create much pollution also. More private cars running in the city will bring us an environmental problem. The increasing number of cars and other transportation will cause serious air pollution.  Air pollution is a significant risk factor for multiple health conditions including respiratory infections, heart disease, and lung cancer, according to the WHO. ("Ail Pollution." Wikipedia. (2013): n. page. Web. 9 Apr. 2013.) The health effects caused by air pollution may include difficulty in breathing, wheezing, coughing and aggravation of existing respiratory and cardiac conditions. Some other researchers said that children aged less than five years that live in developing countries are the most vulnerable population in terms of total deaths attributable to indoor and outdoor air pollution. Not only air pollution, there is also a water pollution when we have so much population in the world. The water we drink is a crucial component for healthy living.  Clean water is essential for health. A sufficient supply of fresh, clean drinking water is a fundamental need for all humans, yet it has been observed that billions of people around the world are being deprived of clean drinking water. That is because we have a lot of more factories than we had before in the world. With the higher population, businessmen have cheaper expenses on the labor, so the businessmen will have more industry businesses. Industry is a major problem that causes the water pollution.  We can easily see that the air pollution also causes death, so that is the reason why I said we need to reduce the population. It is for environment, but it is also for us to live a better life. 

    I know that we always feel bad when we walk on streets after dinner or with somebody we love, but there are so many people that we cannot enjoy the time we want. When we want to go to a restaurant to celebrate for a special reason we cannot make it because there are so many people in the restaurant that we could not find a table for us without a long-time wait. Like when I went to Nashville, I went to four different restaurants and they were full of people. I finally found a restaurant when I walked to another block. Personally I do not like that much population because it brings me too much trouble in my life. In order to hold such an exploding population, the city has extended miles by miles without much plan. It is common for people to travel from the south most part to the north most part of the city to go to work every day. They have to spend three hours or more on the way they go to work and come home. I can say that it is not the way we were expecting to live. Also for more people to live, government or businessmen have to cut down more trees in order to build a house for each one of the citizens. How could we live without green? Please do not take this wrong because we are not getting us a new home, we are losing our one and only home, the earth. 

    The population is one of the biggest problems in the world today. Overpopulation is a serious problem in many less developed countries because it can bring about lots of trouble for us. In the street we can see a large number of people. We cannot breathe fresh air. When we catch the bus or the train, there are so many people that it is very difficult for us to catch it. The more people there are on the earth, the more rubbish we have, and the air and the water are polluted more quickly. Wake up people please! We only have one earth that is the only place we can live on. And one day if the earth cannot stand so many people, then where are we going to live? Please do not only think about for right now because we should also need to be responsible for our younger generation. The high population has already caused us so many serious problems, and I know we definitely do not want live that way, so we must reduce the population. We should not let those problems continue to happen anymore.
