This piece of music is resounding in my mind for a long time ,instantly ,it is like a pixie from the sun which makes me smile with tears in my eyes and moving touch and gladness at the bottom of my heart; it is like fresh breeze which blows away the mundane issues and brings me back to the original innocence and nicety; it is like wings which provoke my strong desire to fly highly in the blue sky. There exists the light of hope flashing in the ocean of everyone’s heart .

The Chorus is different from the common sorrowful movies or the ones which use exaggerative and icky plot or image to make people laugh out loud. Maybe we are familiar with the scenes full of charming beauties, exciting and shocking fighting between heroes or the splendid occasions that are the best representatives of the commercial elements in modern times. The Chorus is the“ Chicken Soup of Mind”，nourishing the soul of human beings.

When the mild—mannered Clement Mathieu—a frustrated musician arrived to take a position as the new assistant teacher in the “Rock Bottom”, he was immediately plunged into educational system nightmare under the tyranny of the headmaster Rachin who was cold and a hard demeanor of a warden , delivering swift punishment to anyone caught inciting trouble. There is no denying that the Chinese character is so extensive and profound that it describes the group as pasture cattle. Their wildness and treachery are the result of that age —the wars among Europe depriving them of the affections from their parents .The teachers defined them as disgusting and cureless evils, however, all of them are encouraged to have a rebirth ,shining as the angle in the beautiful spring owing to the magic power of music , the wonderful appreciation and exploration for truth, kindness and beauty from Clement Mathieu.

Truth

Clement Mathieu treated his students as people with inner virtues rather than criminals with sincerity and deep love. In his mind, the Rachin’s disciplinary motto “action , reaction” was ridiculous . If education is aimed at making students lose the basic trust in others, there is no doubt that education itself  loses all. At the very beginning, the students played jokes on his hair, however, what was his response? It was tolerance and forgiveness even though he proclaimed that he would punish them for their mistakes. In terms of the students’ wonderful performance and talent in music, truehearted encouragement and admiration were the sources of the students’ increasing passion and confidence. Caensim was exchanged with sincerity. The Chorus gained all the recognitions and paved an important way for the surprisingly talented teacher’s pet Jean-Baptiste Maunier.

Kindness

Telling lies is of evilness, but a white lie reflecting the hidden kindness has another unique impact on both sides. Mathieu used all kinds of body language to help Pépinot pass the exam in the back of the headmaster secretly in order to protect the little boy from being punished strictly; At the nervous moment when another teacher found that the students stole the music scores and intended to show them the intensive rules , “I just want to set up a chorus” Mathieu replied wisely. When Jean-Baptiste Maunier’ s mother paid a visit to see his son , she didn’t fall into disappointment as before. Maybe Jean-Baptiste Maunier who was confined in the special room never imagine that the teacher told his mother that he went to see the dentist .There were too many white lies in the movie , which are needed for all of us. Punishment build a high and hard psychological wall for the students ,by contrast, the white lie full of kindness is like the warm sunshine which melts the ice and make the children have the faith that virtue brings happiness and forgiveness to them and the word is not so cord, without any emotional affection as they imagined. 

                  Beauty

“Life is not a lack of beauty, but the lack of observation “. The melodious songs from the Chorus cleanse our soul again and again. The words of the song , facial expressions of the students and the vitality of the hope and brightness are the most powerful evidence to show us the beauty of music—a useful bridge connecting evil and goodness and changing the belief for life. As the old saying  “There are numerous talents out there but few wise headhunters”. Mathieu is the exact headhunters for beauty. Why? For one thing, the content of the songs he composed —beauty was rooted in his heart. He regarded the word as spring filled with love, hope and vigor, for another thing, talent was treasure in his eyes and he found everyone’s advantages and beauty which themselves could teach the students some thing.

Once there were a lot of lost lamb on the way and corner of life, fortunately, a kind shepherd appeared lightening the unknown path for them with love, patience and sincerity . Let’s return to innocence , return to the beautiful and bright word of love— a word without only punishment and the hard discipline of the law, instead, it is the home of grace and compassion of the heart.
