People set and break records for different reasons. For chef Jacob, it was his great love of cooking that encouraged him to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest barbecue marathon. Chef Jacob cooked 4 delicious barbecue dishes in 24 hours and 5 minutes and set a new Guinness World Record.

  The longest barbecue marathon began at 9:30 am on March 15, 2010. There were five barbecues in front of Jacob. Many of Jacob’s friends and fans went to support him and taste the delicious food that he cooked.

  Jacob said: “In preparation for the record I went to the gym twice a day. In my office I used to sit on a ball and I would stand for at least six hours a day.”

  The weather was very hot that day. It was really difficult to be in front of five barbecues for twenty-four hours. But Jacob made it. At 9:35 am on March 16, a new world record was set. He was happy.
