Dear Dr.
I am writing to you about the possibility of studying and researching in your lab as a joint PhD candidate. The China Scholarship Council (CSC) will provide me with full financial support for this 12 months visit. That’s to say, this visit won’t bring any financial obligations to your laboratory. I won't take courses during my visit. And no degree or other certificate will be asked from your university. If necessary, I am willing to give a hand in your Lab during this year.
I am a Ph.D. candidate of Noise and Vibration Control Lab at school of mechatronics engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), People's Republic of China. My current research focuses on developing Magnetorheological (MR) dampers and a Stewart Platform with six MR dampers for the flexible structure vibration control (project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China).
Your researches are of particular interest to me, especially in magnetorheological (MR) fluids and its applications on semi-active/structure/large, flexible space structures vibration control. I have collected all of your publications from 1996-2009 which are available in my university. Also I have acquired 9 Ph.D. and 4 M.S. dissertations directed by you from 1998-2009. And I have read them carefully; especially the ones connected with MR fluids and dampers. All of those are important and helpful to my current research work.
I graduated from Southeast University and got my bachelor's degree on the year 2007. After that, I got a scholarship to work for my master's degree at HIT. And I got the degree after accomplishing a subject about developing a Novel Piezoelectric-Rubber Combined Vibration Isolator for sensitive payloads/precision instruments. Both the universities are top ten engineering universities in China.
I am sure it will benefit me a lot if given the opportunity to study and research in your laboratory.
I am looking forward to hear from you.
With best wishes,
Sincerely yours,
