It had been a year since Susan,thirty-four,became blind. As a result of medical accident,she

was sightless. All she had to depend on was her husband Mark.

The film The Eight Hundred《八佰》directed by Guan Hu is attracting a lot of attention. The film is based on the battle of Shanghai in 1938 to defend the Sihang warehouse(仓库） on the Suzhou River.

The movie tells the story of the "800 heroes”。 It is important to praise heroes, but most people are also full of fear of war and death. Some people will run away from death, and some people will see the blood and grow up in the war. In this way, the focus on small people will be closer to life, so that the viewers can keep in close touch with the film and also feel more inspired and develop the feelings of love for our country.

In the film,the main characters are a group of men who have been taken to Sihang warehouse. Some of them are soldiers,some are deserters(擅离职守者）， and some are just farmers who have been caught without any reason.

One cannot become a hero overnight. Duanwu and Xiao Hubei are just ordinary people who follow Lao Hulu into the city. When they see the killing of Lao Hulu by the Japanese, their personal journey begins. Duanwu and Xiao Hubei both grow up to be heroes after experiencing a lot of life and death. After seeing Duanwu's death, Xiao Hubei chooses to stay. Even more, in the movement of protecting the flag, the deserter team becomes the flag team. This scene attracts people's attention. It tries its best to protect the flag,showing people's love for their country.

The Eight Hundred is based on the historical real event, which lets us feel cruelty of the war once again and that life is powerless in the face of the war. But because of this,“800 heroes” shocks everyone's heart and wakes up the Chinese people.

How are you feeling today? Often when we ask people that question, they reply “not bad”。 But what would make us feel "perfect"? Maybe we could live better by being healthier-but how?   

Of course there are many solutions to improving our mental health, but sometimes there are small and simple methods of helping improve our well - being. It' s something the BBC TV programme Easy Ways to Live Well has been looking at. It suggested several methods. And maybe they could help us too.

If your addiction to your smart phone is getting you down, it's suggested that turning your phone screen grey help you reduce screen time because a black and white screen becomes less attractive to look at. With recent studies showing our phones can increase our stress , it seems like a no - brainer to try this “colorless" idea.

Try a swim in ice-cold water? Well,the BBC programme found a daily swim in freezing water gets you used to the stress of doing it and therefore prepares you for other life stresses. And another way to ＂calm down"is to leave your smart phone at home, walk in a forest, and breathe in the fresh air.

Other life - improving ideas include things such as singing to reduce pain and doing more exercise to get away from our immovable lives. But whatever ways we choose, it seems that any change to our lifestyle can help improve our body and mind.

Good morning, everyone. For the first time in many years, there is too much snow on the ground for all schools in the area to be closed. We got five centimeters of new snow yesterday, and that was on top of the three centimeters the day before yesterday. We may have a little more snow tonight and tomorrow morning, but no more than one centimeter. Tomorrow around midday, the sun will be out, but it will be very cold. (18) The temperature will be -5℃ tonight, and it could get -15℃ tomorrow. At least it will not be windy like last week. It felt like 10℃ was really -10℃! During the winter months, it is very important to make sure your loved ones are safe and warm. If you have an emergency, please dial 911. Just make sure to wear a hat and gloves. Also, always bring an extra sweater or a long sleeve shirt to put on. Most importantly, drive safely out there!  The roads will be covered in ice starting tomorrow evening.
