Protect the air

Air is as important as food. So it's important for us to keep air clean and fresh. However, the air has become really polluted around us. The polluted air has caused many serious problems: There is heavy smog in many cities of China. Thousands of people in India died from high temperature. And there are all kinds of lung diseases around the world.

How to keep air clean and fresh? We can begin with small things, such as planting more trees, riding bikes instead of driving. We can also call people to prevent the air pollution.

With the global warming getting worse, more people choose to live a low­carbon life for the purpose of reducing greenhouse gases. As students, we can choose to live a low­carbon life, too. In our daily life, we should save water, electricity and paper. Remember to turn off the tap or reuse water. We're supposed to use both sides of the paper. We ought to turn off the lights when we leave a room. We can bring our own shopping bags when we go to the supermarket. Don't buy unnecessary clothes because it is a kind of waste. Don't buy cups, bowls or chopsticks which can be used only once. If possible, we'd better go to school on foot or by bike.

Act now to save water

Water is very important to us. Without water, neither plants nor animals can live. People can't live, either. 

I am very sorry to see there are many people even some students don't know how to save water. When they don't use water, some people don't turn off the tap. When they are taking a shower, they spend too much time. They throw away their bottles with water in them.

I'd like to give all of us some advice. Turn off the tap when no one uses it. When you are using shampoo to wash your hair, turn off the shower. Before throwing the bottle, drink the last drop of  water in it.

Dear sir，

I'm very glad that China Eurasia Expo will be held in Urumqi in September. As a citizen in Urumqi, I think it is our duty to do something for this great event. So I want to be a volunteer to help clean up the city parks and streets. And I think I can help to plant more trees and flowers，too. The more trees we plant, the greener our city will be. By doing these, we can show the world a more beautiful city. The reason why I'd also like to be a guide is that I like English and I'm good at speaking English. I want to show the foreigners around the Expo and our city. I'm sure I can be a good guide.
