Should Private Car Owners be Taxed for Pollution(是

   With the development of society, the number of private car has increased sharply during these years. Certainly private car brings a lot of convenience to the owner, however, it also brings many problems to us and our cities, for example, cars produce large amount of contamination , and unbearable traffic jams. The biggest problem is the serious pollution in the city. In order to reduce environmental pollution, government agencies in same big cities has been thinking of putting a “pollution tax” on private cars. There are many different views from different people,but in my part, I believe the private car owners should be taxed for pollution.

   In the first place, cars are the main factors that cause environmental pollution. In China, many big cities are plagued by serious air pollution. As the private car owners, they have responsibilities for pollution so they should tax for it, and on the other hand, the fund they tax can be used for controlling pollution and improving the quality of environment.

   In the second place, putting a “pollution tax” contributes to make people realize the importance of protecting environment, especially make private car owners aware of the seriousness of the problem. Besides, this policy can help to make people who intend to buy a new car think it over that if they have decided to do so, as the result of this, it go far towards controlling the number of private cars so that contribute to reduce the environmental pollution. 

   In a word, it is necessary attempt to make full use of this method of taxation to deal with the environmental problem. And it has to be beard in mind for everyone, especially for the private car owners, should spare no effort to protect our precious environment, and I believe that it is not so difficult to giving back us a favorable circumstances if all of us have a share in environmental protection.
