 these are words of the song bye-bye. every time when i hear it, i’ll always lose myself in grief recalling the tough time we came through in XX.

 the snow storm, the tibet issue, the obstruction to the olympic torch relay，the earthquake……time dates back to the day the horrible earth quake occurred in sichuan, tens of thousands of people lost life and families. i’ll never forget those days i sat front of the tv, moved by people never gave up under ruins even there’s little hope to survive. i’ll never forget those days most newspapers and websites were all in black and white. i’ll never forget those days i had my black coat on, writing down my best wishes to the suffering people.

 at the same time, i also remember those days my friends abroad told me that they joined in the protest against western world’s bias on china and the fight against the tibetan separatists. i can still remember the day when i went to see the torch relay at hangzhou with heart shaped stickers on cheek. i wore the t-shirt with words light the passion, light the dream . when the torch passed by, we cheered go china, go beijing, sang the national anthem again and again, waving flags, dancing, hugging, clapping.

 it was the opening ceremony of XX beijing olympic games which shocked the whole world and told the entire human yes, we can.

 yes, we can, because we are united and brave yes, we can because we have trust and love.

 yes, we can because we are the member of the great nation china.

 Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mindit is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshnessit is the freshness of the deep springs of life . Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . Nobody grows old merely by a number of years . We grow old by deserting our ideals.

 Years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . Worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .

 Whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

 When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80. Thank you!

 I have been in University for about one year. During my stay here, I came to realize that university life is like drinking coke. We experience all tastes of life here, sour, sweet, bitter and hot.

 I am from Province, which is far away from here. I often miss my Mum, friends, and relatives in my hometown. However, I can t see them very often. So loneliness always keeps me company. I am sad that I can t be there with them.

 Lucky for me, life in university is rich and colorful. With more free time,we can do many more things besides study, such as joining societies clubs, and taking part-time s. Such activities not only make our life more colorful, but also help us improve all kinds of skills. The university is a society miniature, what we learn here will benefit our future life.

 Our path in life will not always be smooth. Setbacks can t be avoided. Failing an important exam, break up with boy or girl friend, or refused by a promising company, such setbacks are likely to get us down. Sometimes we fell so frustrated that we even burst into tears.

 Drinkin coke is wonderful, despite the undesirble consequent hiccups. It s bitter, sour and peppery, but also sweet. And you ll even feel excited after gulping down a glass. A college experience is part of growing up. We cry, smile, fall in love, get hurt, leave, learn and then we become a better person.

 University life is like drinking coke. I m experiencing it. And I know, I enjoy it!

 ——friendship

ladies and gentlemen:

 i am honored to be standing here to deliver a speech entitled “friendship”.

 the hero s mother in the movie forrest gump says, “life is a box of chocolates”. i would say that life, with friendship, true friendship particularly, is sweet as honey. it is moonlight cast on the tranquility of a lake on a mid-fall night, enchanting to the soul. it is morning dew on rose petals, pleasant and pleasing to the sense of sight. it is cosy fire on a bitterly cold winter night, warming the heart.

 but as helen foster snow remarks, “friendship is no common weed that grows along the way. it s highly cultivated and watered day by day.” like an infant, it needs constant care; like a young tree, it can not be left to the tender mercies of severe weather. true friendship consists more in “a friend in need” to give to than “a friend in need” to take from. a true friend is a person who can be turned to, who is ready to lend a listening ear, who is willing to share feelings.

 riendship should be mutual, otherwise it will be subject to withering like plant in drought. like genuine love, true friendship has to be a two way experience. be it the former or the latter, if one expects to be solely on the receiving end, then s/he will be too optimistic about it: it is hoping against hope that it will last. love or friendship of this kind is dangerous, as it is contaminated by the dark matter in human nature – selfishness.

 not infrequently does friendship need to be cared and tended, fostered and nourished, so that it will “stand at every crossroad, so good and strong and true”.

 友谊应当是双向的，否则它就会像遇干旱而即将毁灭的植株。就像真诚的爱，真挚的友谊必须是一种双向的经历。但无论是前者还是后者，如果一个人指望只获取而不付出，那么她/他对此也未免太乐观，而希望这样的友谊会长久也只是空想。这样的爱情或友谊是危险的，因为它已被人性的阴暗面--自私所玷污。

 只有精心的呵护与照料，养育和栽培，才能让友谊“站在每个十字路口时，都是那么美好、那么坚强、那么真挚。”

 lishui, where i was born and brought up, is a small and beautiful town located in the coastal areas, being rich in fish and rice. everyone is proud of her or his hometown. i was no exception .i love my hometown and i am so pleased to introduce my hometown to you.

 surrounded by towering mountains, lishui is the first pilot area of state-level ecological demonstration area in zhejiang, with ou river runs through. the sky is very blue and the water is very clean. you can often hear birds singing and sheep bleating, see big trees and nice flowers everywhere, and breathe fresh air full of the fragrant flowers. it just likes a cute lady stand quietly here, waiting for her beloved gentleman. it has many nice scenic spots, such as xiandu, mountain baishanzhu, grottoes shimen, and so on. the food here also tastes very delicious. thousands of people from other parts of china and foreign countries come here every year, especially in holidays, most of who enjoy every minute here.

 my hometown is so lovely. all the more i love people there. the majority are hard working so as to make it richer and more beautiful. furthermore, they are all friendly and warm-hearted to others. if one is in trouble, do not worry, there always be a hand from others. i’m sure you will have a wonderful time in my hometown.

 i love my hometown – lishui, a bright pearl god lost in the world.

 家乡可爱，但家乡的人们更加可爱。为了将家乡建设得更加繁荣美丽，他们兢兢业业，日夜奔劳。更加可贵的是，他们都善良友好，拥有赤子之心。如果你遇到问题，请别担心，身边总有人会伸出友爱之手。你会在这里找到归属感。
