Chapter 5 my toys
1.teaching contents
The lesson discusses some toys
The new words and the using of it are on the shelf pattern.
The study of this lesson will help the Ss know more toys and describe the existence and situations of the toys.
2.Teaching aims :
(1) Knowledge aims:
a)Enable Ss to master the new words: puzzle, yoyo, toy, truck, spaceship, computer, robot, cupboard and shelf.
b)The Ss can understand and use the new words in the structure” There’s a ….. It’s on……
(2)Ability aims: Develop Ss’ basic abilities of listening and speaking. Enable them to use the structure freely to describe the existence and situations of the objects.
(3) Emotion aims: By completing the task, the Ss increase their interest and set up self-confidence in language study.
3. The key points and difficult points:
The key points: 8 new words and the using of the 2 structures.
The difficult points: the pronunciation of the words: toy truck , spaceship, cupboard and the using of the structures freely.
How to achieve the teaching objectives better, to stress the key points and break through the difficult points? The key is how to make use of the proper teaching methods.
Part 2 the situations of the Ss and the teaching methods:
The Ss in Grade5 have some Basic English knowledge. They are good at imitation. They are lively and have good memories. All kinds of teaching measure are required. According to the modern perception theories and intercourse teaching theories, I adopt the material cards, the radio in my teaching. I also arrange individual work, pair work and group work for Ss to practice.
Part 3 Teaching Process
Step 1: Warming- up
1.Greeting
2.Let’s chant: Do you like…..?
T: Do you like toys? Yes? OK, Today I will show you some toys cards here (lead Ss enter the nest part)
Step 2: Presentation and practice
1.words presentation and practice
To teach the words one by one by using the material cards and the words cards. At the same time, stick them on the blackboard. Methods: point and read, read in groups, read by dividing boys and girls.4 activities to practice:
(1)Flash the cards: take off the material cards and show them quickly. Let Ss speak out the words.
(2) Guess and spell: the students guess the words, then speak and spell it.
(3)Listen to the tape
The four activities can make Ss remember and grasp the words quickly.
2.Sentence presentation and practice
Sentence 1 presentation: The CAI presents a room T:
There’s a room.
What’s in the room?
3.To guide the Ss answer it with the structure: There’s a …
Then write it on the blackboard. Let the Ss talk about the others in the room with the structure.
Sentence 2 presentation: I put a card on the book and ask: where is the card? Ss :It’s on the ……
Write the structure on the blackboard. Practice in/under/ near in the same way.
Step 3.consolidation
1.Look at the picture of the book. Practice in pair.then chooses some Ss to practice.
2.Finger games. Practice: What’s in the room? There’s a …. Where is the ….?It’s on/in/under…
Step 4.Have a chant: Do you like….? (This time the cards will be changed)
Step5. Blackboard Design: There’s a…… It’s on the …..
