Analysis of teaching material:
The topic of this unit is about the location of items, is the first time to involve "Where's /where’re my schoolbag?" sentences. teaching around this topic is to guide students to learn the daily necessities in their life, learning and using the preposition to talk about relations where things are, to use English to communicate with each other, to master the use of the purpose prepositions of the unit. Through learning, the students will talk about the location of the things in the room, to arrangement room correctly. Students cam express the situation ability quickly in oral or written form, enhanced their confidence in using English.

(1) Improve students’ reading skills.
(2) Enable to describe the positions in which things are ,ask and answers about their positions of the furniture and can put the furniture in the room rightly, train the students’ ability of observation.

Encourage students use English, improve their interests and increase their engagement in class activities .

VII. Teaching Procedures
Step1 Warm-up
Greet the whole class as usual. Revise the English song “the ABC song”, and check the preview
Step2 Lead-in (2mins)
1、Brainstorming : Revise the nouns that students have learned (pencil,book,box,schoolbag ,dictionary,pen,key,map,ruler...etc) let students look and speak with the flash words cards,
(Stimulate students’ sense of competition and cooperation by having a PK between boys and girls )
For example:
T : Class! Look at each picture that I will show you and say the word that each picture stands for.Let’s have a PK between boys and girls. 2、Revise “Where’s this ? It is a/an....”
T: Do you know what these things are ? Look at the first one.
What’s this in English?
Ss: It’s a pen/an orange.
Then let the students ask and answer with some real objects or picters in pair.
S1: What’ this in English ?
S2: It’s a/an...... .
Step 3 Present the new words
Teacher show the new words by using the pictures of the Multimedia, let students work in pairs to study new words and correct the students’ pronunciation with pictures.
T: Class, look at the new words on the screen. Can you read the words by yourselves? ---What’s this in English?
Ss:----It’s a book/dresser/bed/table.........etc.
1. Present the furniture
T: Look at the big picture on the screen. This is a big nice room. I want to own such a room. Because there is some nice furniture in it. Do you know the names of the furniture?
(Show a picture of a bed and a bookcase.)
T: What’s this? It’s a bed. “BED”. Read after me. B-E-D, bed.
Ss: B-E-D, bed.
T: What’s this? It’s a sofa. S-O-F-A, sofa.
Ss: S-O-F-A, sofa.
(Teach the other words bookcase /table/chair/desk/hat/head in the same way.)
2. Present in/on/under
T: Where is my book? It’s on the desk. (Put a book on the desk.)
S1: It’s on the desk.
T: Where is my book? It’s on the desk. (To all the students.)
Ss: It's on the desk.
T: Where is my pen? It’s in the pencil case. (Put a pen in the pencil case and ask.)
S1: It’s in the pencil box.
T: Where is my pen? (To all the students.)
Ss: It’s in the pencil box.
T: Where is my schoolbag? (Put a schoolbag under the desk and ask this question.)
S1: It's under the desk.
T: Where is my schoolbag? (To all the students)
Ss: It’s under the desk.
Write "in, on, under" on the blackboard.
Step 4 Practice the new words
1) For example:
T: Class! look at the words in 1a, read them individually, then I’ll call you to read.
Next, call some Student to read the new words.Correct their pronunciation mistakes if they have.
In the end .let the Ss match the words with the things in the picture.
2)Development activities: let the students practice new words and important sentences by using the students’& the classroom’s things.
Step5 : Listening to 1b and number the things in the picture[1-4
1. Let Ss listen to the tape and finish 1b.
2. Ss listen to the tape and number the things [1-4]in the picture. (学案)
3. Check the answers with the class.
Step6 : 1,Practice 1c & practice the new language with the real things.especially the key words “on,in under..etc”
2.Quick memorization:
For example:
T: Class! Look at the things in the room on screen, what things are there in the room? And where are the things ? Please try to remember them. I’ll see which group can remember the most.
The book is on the chair. The pen is under the ........... .etc.
Task1: Quick memorization:Work in pairs ask and answer
Task2: work in pairs 1) Find the differences in picture A and picture B.
2)Look at the above pictures and describe their rooms right positions .
Step7 Summary
