two kinds 读后感

The author of Two Kinds is Amy Tan who is a Chinese American.The article tells a story between a mother and her daughter.The mother attempted to change her daughter into a prodigy and the daughter’s resistances to such a change represent a bittersweet relationship between mother and daughter and a sharp conflict between two generations and two cultures.

The mother standards the traditional Chinese parent who want their children absolutely obedient their will.Just like what she said“Only two kinds of daughter.Those who are obedient and those who follow their own mind!Only one kind of daughter can live in this house.Obedient daughter!”.The daughter standard the western thought.She praise liberty highly and doesn’t agree with her mother’s way until she grown up.After her mother died,she realized her mother’s considerate heart.Finally she understand her mother,missed her,and gratitude her.

Early on,the tiger mother and the wolf father were very popular and caused a debate about education method. Obviously tiger mother and wolf father bring up their children successfully though an extremely way.Maybe their childrenused to complain about that,but they do become distinguished.

From my perspective,I prefer a moderation way.Parents should not push their children too hard.As the old saying goes: Interest is the best teacher.If the child doesn’t like to play the piano,then,stop it and try another instrument.Maybe he would become an outstanding violinist.On the contrary, sometimes kids need parents supervise and urge them.Parents should lead them to the correct way in case they walk on a wrong way.

What I totally agree with in this article was that the mother always encouraged her daughter even when she doesn’t believe herself.For myself,in my childhood,every time I made progress even a bit such as answer a question on a class,my mother would praise me.She made me believe I was different and she was proud of me.That let me try my best at any occasion which I can show myself.

This article expressed a daughter’s love to her mother and many years later she eventually understood her mother’s expectation and purpose.It delivered deep recall to her mother. The content was press close to our real life,the daughter is you and me.
