A：对不起，他不在这里。要留口信吗？

B：好的，请告诉他，玛丽打过电话，有急事。

接听电话时要表达某人不在，可以说：

I'm afraid / sorry that he is not right now/she is out at the

Moment/She's not at his desk./I'm afraid he is not available.

/He has just gone out./Would you like to ring back later?

如果需要接听电话的人不在，代接者可以主动提出带口信，对方拒绝时，可以善意的提醒对方过会再打：try againlater/call back later/call again in an hour 或者留下对方的联系方式以便他要找的人回来给他回电话：How can be get hold of you? How can he get in touch with you?(他怎么和您联系？）/Your number ,please?(请告诉我您的电话号码。）

Dialogue 4. 打错电话

A: Hello. I’d like to speak to Mr. Wang.

B: What number are you calling?

A: I’d like to speak to Mr. Wang at 2345145.

B: Sorry, there is no one here by that name.

A: Oh, sorry for troubling you.

A：您好，我想找一下王先生。

B：您好像打错电话了.

A：我要找一下2345145的王先生。

B：对不起，这里没有王先生这个人。

A：对不起，打扰您了。

有人打错电话，我们可以说：Wrong number,/I'm sorry you got the wrong number.(打错了。）What number are you calling?(你想打给什么号吗？）Sorry，the number's changed.(对不起号码改了。）There is no one by that name.(这里没用这个人。）
